That's the DD Gorton's team has to do: find a team willing to trade and identify - among assets they're willing to part with - these that would be the most useful. These "apparent" good assets are not something that other teams are willing to part with themselves, and one of the reasons why there are so little trades in the NHL.
Which is something I think they've been quite adept at doing over the course of the rebuild. There's been a lot of fixation on landing first round picks or blue chippers, but the added prospects in these deals are the sort of guys that make or break a successful rebuild. Rykov, Lindgren, Howden, Lemieux, and Hajek aren't flashy additions, but they're great building blocks and every single one of them looks like they could play meaningful roles with the team. Even if they top out as 5/6 D or bottom-six players, that's fewer roster players you have to add through other means.
