  • We're expecting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
Hard to know what they plan to do at wing post-Panarin/Kreider. On the one hand nobody in the system is projected to be that good. On the other if your center depth is good enough, maybe Laf, Cuylle, Perreault, Othmann is a good enough top 6 at wing. I’d say that’s pretty optimistic though. It’s not like we are going to have three excellent D pairs any time soon so they will absolutely need to be able to score 3 lines deep to be a cup contender again.

dude i'm a mets fan. you may not believe it but i speak to jinx. this one worked, and i take credit.

did you miss where i bet that we would move our first for a rental? i only wager against my own rooting interest. Insisting as i have that Lindgren would not be traded is just that: either I am right, and can gloat, or Im wrong, and i get what i want, which is to have traded lindgren.

i did the same thing with edstrom vs rempe this offseason. i was also very happily wrong on that one.

my brother literally bets on the phillies and braves to win the world series every year. we're just like this.

As a Rangers, Mets, Knicks and Jets fan, Ive made literally thousands of dollars betting against them.

What’s odd to me about Kreider is that he was seen either today or yesterday doing a bag skate. To me, that doesn’t scream something physically is wrong unless it’s something minor and upper body (hand, arm, shoulder). Could this be the Rangers ‘resting him’ and telling him that he has played his last game as a Ranger while also letting him heal? The move to IR allows them to call up someone to replace him while not necessitating Kreider to answer a lot of questions about not playing.

Call it a tin foil hat theory but with the way the team played the game against Pittsburgh where Kreider came out for warmups and then didn’t play makes me think that the decision may have been made then and the team was in ‘shock’.
Guys test how it feels to skate when hurt often. CK isnt the first nor will he be the last. He tried since then as well. CK is hurt and has been playing through discomfort. This isnt a made up situation. If the Rangers thought for a second any player was making up an injury Drury would dump them right away. Drury doesn't play games.

aren't you the guy who ranted 4000 words about the unequal distribution of NMCs for a few hours the other day?
No, I was cosplaying as a GM that day. Plus, I’m a schmets fan, so I speak riddles and pontifications that I don’t always agree with, so that just in case someone calls me out, I won’t have to own it. It’s super neato and convenient.

Rangers need LD help with size youth and physical play in front of Igor

Rangers get LD Emil Lilleberg

Lightning get De Hann (Bolts are familiar with him) 2ed round pick (the pick the Rangers receive from the Avalanche)

Hard nosed dman with size 6’3 212 not much offense but a bigger Lindgren with less injuries and more size and just as physical.

This would be a great trade for both teams.

Bolts trying to add experience for the playoffs and Rangers get defensive depth.

Where’s everyone saying Drury sucks?
He does suck...this team went to the eastern conference finals 2 of the last 3 years and we're now slinking our way around the bottom of the conference, trading players for pennies on the dollar, I'm not sure how anyone could think this is good. The only move I've liked is the jt Miller one.

Reilly Smith. Rangers retain 50% on top of the 25% retained by Pittsburgh. $1,875,000. Which teams?

Second round pick plus another pick. 4th?

Washington is looking for a depth forward who can play in their top 9. Winnipeg is looking for the same type of player. Vegas. Edmonton. LA. Columbus is looking for a forward. New Jersey. Some of the teams are looking for more scoring punch but they may have to settle for a lesser player. The players who can put the puck in the net after more expensive to acquire and they are difficult to acquire. Some teams would prefer a center but everyone wants a center.

Sam Carrick? What could the Rangers acquire for Carrick? He has had a good season for the Rangers. The Rangers could replace him in the summer in free agency. Teams are looking for help at center. His contract is very affordable for two more seasons. Can the Rangers get a future 2nd round pick with the intention of moving the pick for a player with term in the summer?

A 2nd & a 4th for Smith at $1,875,000 sounds about right. No rush to move Carrick. Can be moved at the next two deadlines if need be.

I don’t see anyone acquiring Kreider or Panarin for anything other than picks and prospects. Hopefully Drury can get a ‘26 first to replace the one that’s going to PIT. This years pick is staying as the losses will pile up thru the end of the season

Id wanna keep Carrick, if we move him we'll spend the next year looking for a guy like him. He'd likely only return a 3rd or 4th anyway. Smith (that trade was stupid) and Brodz should both be moved, if for no other reason that the coach can't play them over their heads anymore. I like Smith in the bottom 6, I like Brodz as a depth player for injuries, neither is played where they should be most of the time, for that I'd move them and keep Berard and Othmann in the lineup.

Shouldn’t Edstrom be the fourth line center?

You know Carrick crossed my mind when I saw Parsinnen acquired. He’s also a veteran player who may want to be on a contending team. It would t surprise me to see a team trade a future 2nd + later pick this year for a guy like Carrick, especially with term.

No it that high a pick but a mid round
I’d just keep Carrick for next year though

Why? I don’t want to pay another winger 14m per year,

Trade him for a young cost controlled player like necas and parts.

Ie the raantanna trade itself
I'm game but can you name a player like Necas that's available? I mention Rantanen because he's available. The $14M per year becomes very similar to what we're currently paying panarin once the cap goes up.

It’s more the type of player for me. I want someone who attacks players 1v1. I’m not sure Rantanen is that guy. I’m truly good just rebuilding the defense This offseason and seeing what some of the young guys can do on offense.

This team SHOULD be able to generate chances by hard work and letting the defense get pucks to and around the net. Between the guys they have and who they could sign with the cap space that’s a legitimate way to build 5v5 offense. No teams pressure the point in this league.
