One team to keep an eye on is MTL. Their GM is on the hot seat. Their coach wants size up front.

Chris Kreider would be a very good fit for them. They have a couple of blue chip prospects in Romanov and Poehling, who I can't see them trade. But they have picks, and perhaps some guys that the Rangers scouting staff might like.

MTL is actively looking for a deal.
I would die laughing if Montreal traded for Kreider. That would be the most hilarious landing spot for him from a fan perspective considering their fanbase still despises him.

Yes, he's been bad with Howden but his metrics are just as bad with Panarin. He has decent enough results defensively, but is a black hole offensively. Fox does most of his offensive damage in his few minutes away from Lindgren, much like DeAngelo has done away from Hajek these past few games.

I think this is the important distinction at this point in his career. Lindgren is a defensive-defenseman. I'll worry about his Shot Rates For later. And like I said, both his GAR/60 and WAR/60 are positive (slightly); His SHD/60 is the best on the team. This isn't like Hajek who is simply getting murdered in every category imaginable and doesn't really pass anyone's eye test. Lindgren's only job right now is to be solid defensively, and he's doing that.

At this point of the season, I think the 4 bottom teams in the west and east are settling into where they will finish.

CLB is the one that might take a step forward, but they would need to make a trade or two pretty quickly to correct their roster.

The rest of the tweeners at this stage are interesting. I think TB makes it. They are playing a different style than last year and had some trouble adjusting. Similar adjustments with SJ. Their players are adjusting. Less systems and more personnel.

PHI is adjusting to AV's system and are looking pretty good. They have found roles for their players. Alain was and is very good at that. The Rangers took 4 months, and Philly's done it in 6 weeks. Kudos to Alain and crew.

PIT is going to need, and possibly get a super human performance from a refreshed Crosby in the back half imo.

CAR is a legitimate team, especially with Svechnikov coming out as a top tier offensive threat. They are losing some games that they should have won, but I think they make it.

BUF is a sham. League's been giving them the easiest schedule early in the season for a couple of years in a row now, and they are falling back to the pack again. I'm a big fan of their coach. But they don't have the depth or talent to string together 4-5 wins a row throughout a calendar year.

BOS- beast of the east. A couple of years ago I posted that Pastarnak is going to take over Ovechkin as the top modern goal scorer of our era. It's happening sooner than I expected.

EDM makes it barring injury to one of the wonder twins. They have an effective formula, and it's working for them. Just need some secondary offense.

WPG is winning because of goaltending. Helle is stealing games for them.

I think this is the year ARI finally makes the playoffs.

NSH is another team that may be itchy to make a move. They need to make some deals.

STL and COL are contenders imo. The latter needs a healthy Grubauer.

Ugh , this is a great take. I'm still holding onto that Lias v pool party will not look good for us in 5-6 years. If you think Lias looked bad, Poolparty had Drai AND Connor f***in' McDavid to play with ... I don't think he comes here and magically gels with MUCH LESSER players. Yikes.
I thought this at first too, but neither Drai or McDavid really elevate their line-mates THAT much unless they play together.

Georgiev and a small + to Vegas for Dorofeyev? A scout brought this up today. Have no idea if it has any legs or if the guy was just posturing

Yeah, Vegas definitely needs a better backup than Subban.

If they don't view Doro that highly, then I hope the Rangers can pry him from them. He should have gone in the first round this past draft.

Vegas could definitely use Georgiev big time. If by small add they mean a late round pick or an AHL player then yes I make this trade right now.

He's average defenisvely at the expense of killing the offence entirely despite having someone as talented as Fox as his partner. For reference Fox managed to put up way better numbers with Staal as his partner.

The market for Kreider is gonna be similar to that of Hall. While not the same players, could be the best wingers available.

He'll be in a holding pattern until Hall is moved or extended.

He may not be a trusted source, but he's been breaking news for a while now. Not if it has been posted here already:

This is the list for Kreider too, maybe with Boston added in. This was from earlier today.

I still think there is a chance he signs. No self rental though

Not sure if it was mentioned, so forgive me if this was discussed...but Friedman mentioned on this weeks 31T podcast that Dallas is looking for forward help, specifically someone who can add speed.

Gorton recently did business with Nill re: Zucc that worked out well for him...wonder if there is another match with CK.

I would only take picks. Dallas doesn’t draft well. They’re prospects aren’t appealing outside of Robertson.

I don't know, something doesn't add up about this. Maybe everyone is wrong but it's rare for the entire board to unanimously agree that a certain player looks good. He certainly could just be on a PDO run I guess. Technically Fox is the only defender on this team to have a xGF% over 50% and it's just barely.
