They better not be giving up a lot for this guy. Do not help Edmonton

Feels like a perfect trade to be based on conditional picks. Pay what you get. Say Fast and a 3rd and a conditional 2nd next year based on performance. 50+ pts it’s a second, 40+ pts it’s a 3rd and sub 40 it’s a 4th. Something like that...

Who is this?

Rick is one of the better beat writers around the league (he writes mainly for VAN), and very good when it comes to be an #insiderrrrrrr league-wide.

James/the OP twitter account posted is just a dude who just posts the stuff he hears on radio interviews, which is helpful because not everyone gets a chance to listen.

well i stand corrected

thought he was doing better
His 5v5 stats against are all pretty good. CA/60, FA/60, SA/60, GA/60, xGA/60, HDCA/60, HDGA/60. Also his PK stats are very good. I think shared ice-time with Howden’s line might have dented his CF% a bit too. Lindgren’s GAR/60 and WAR/60 are both positive and 7th on the team; SHD/60 by far the best on the team. He passes my eye test with flying colors so I think there may be more to his story than just CF%.

Yes, he's been bad with Howden but his metrics are just as bad with Panarin. He has decent enough results defensively, but is a black hole offensively. Fox does most of his offensive damage in his few minutes away from Lindgren, much like DeAngelo has done away from Hajek these past few games.

We’ll see if Edmonton circled back to the Rangers tomorrow as that’s the deadline.

Would Edmonton not sell off Pool Party to make the team better.

Still think Fast and a 3rd would be decent. Fast could really help Edmonton and the Oilers can fit him under their cap.

Interesting. I'd add a condition if Puljujarvi signed and came over this year.

Coincidentally Andersson was sent to Hartford a few weeks ago too. Make your own leaps of deduction but if the tweet is correct than its a BIG coincidence that once a deal allegedly fell through Lias was immediately sent to the AHL where he should have been sent much earlier.

Well, Pulju has until tomorrow to sign before he becomes ineligible to play in the NHL this year.

So if the Rangers want him to come over this year, then they need to trade for him NOW, and sign him in the next few hours.

Ah. Seems unlikely then.

That’s a good trade except the optics - giving up a recent 4OA pick for a bottom-6er. Lias provides much better optics of exchanging struggling top-10 prospects, change of scenery and all.

Ugh , this is a great take. I'm still holding onto that Lias v pool party will not look good for us in 5-6 years. If you think Lias looked bad, Poolparty had Drai AND Connor f***in' McDavid to play with ... I don't think he comes here and magically gels with MUCH LESSER players. Yikes.

wouldn't be surprised if lias and his dad asked out of ny

this kid is the prototypical "change of location" prospect.

nothing has worked here. nothing.

something tells me it wont matter and this coming from a big time lias guy on draft day.

Somewhere soon down the line:

Miller
-Trouba
Robertson-Lundkvist
Lindgren-Fox

“Soon” is relative and in this case we are talking probably at least 4 years from now for Miller to be on the top line and Robertson in top-4.

I honestly didn’t express an opinion, just think there’s a connection and something that allows Oilers to not look like total losers (at least not yet) with another high draft pick.

Personally I agree that the Rangers should continue to move older players for prospects but if there’s a situation where the organization bring who they perceived is a better prospect (whatever meaning they’re going to put into this definition) then it’s a net positive for moving the rebuild forward too.

One team to keep an eye on is MTL. Their GM is on the hot seat. Their coach wants size up front.

Chris Kreider would be a very good fit for them. They have a couple of blue chip prospects in Romanov and Poehling, who I can't see them trade. But they have picks, and perhaps some guys that the Rangers scouting staff might like.

MTL is actively looking for a deal.
