Nice read.

Tells us the Rangers might have multiple options if they want to deal off Georgiev.

He put on a good show yesterday with Vegas in the crowd--yeah they might have been scouting their up coming opponents but I'm sure they liked what they saw in Georgiev.

A deal in there to be made with someone if the Rangers choose.

Toronto
Carolina
Vegas
Calgary
Edmonton
Minnesota
First time hearing Nashville but add them to the list.

Not that I want him traded but at see what the market is willing to offer.
I hope I am dead wrong but maybe the days of sending away 1st pics for players are fewer and fewer. GM’s are learning that those 1st rounders have better chances of succeeding in today’s nhl. Geo getting a 1st is not that likely. Unless a prospect is blocked by more developed players in the big league, geo only gets 2nd. Is that good enough IDK.

Take a chance. Maybe a change of scenery can help. Rangers did like him in his draft year. Only 23 years old. I'd take a chance while his value is lower than what it used to be

Is it a change of scenery? He played under Ruff in Dallas (at least 1 year I believe).

people are ready to deal deangelo who is on pace for like 60 points cause lundkvist is one the way and we have too many good rhd. So clearly the solution to that is to trade for a crappy rhd so we don’t have too many good ones

Get this right, please. Nobody is advocating trading TDA today. Everyone *is* advocating trading TDA in 1.5-2 years because Fox/Trouba are better. Get over yourself.

you took my joking post pretty seriously but yeah I need to get over myself
Where was the joke? ;)

Editing for clarity. TDA is on pace for over 60 points. Fox is also clearly better. Trouba is also clearly signed. Other non-joke parts of your post reference trading RHD men. We have 2 top ones. We’re fine. If you are doubting That, then we clearly disagree.

If the Rangers were to spend resources I’d rather spend it where there’s more need.

Is it true that if they deadline falls on a weekend they can move it to Monday?

Hi guys and regards from Finland! I'm sorry if I took it wrong but what do you mean by this? Everyone's been under the impression that an RFA like Puljujarvi has to sign a deal by December the 1st. Are you talking about something else or are you saying it could actually be the 2nd? I'm actually sure I had to get this wrong :)

JP is a deadline piece. No team wants to trade too much and lose the trade on a potential bust and Holland doesn't want to look a fool for accepting scraps. A deadline trade will make everyone look good. Help for the Oilers, prospect for a selling team.

I'll bet a shiny penny that Nils gets traded before ADA
It depends on DeAngelo’s next cap hit and what Fox accomplishes over on his ELC. Fortunately Fox doesn’t need a new deal until 2022, so DeAngelo could still be here for 2 more seasons. If DeAngelo finishes the season with 45-50 points, his cap hit might be manageable.

I fully expect Adam Fox to be this team’s best defenseman by 2022. Are they going to spend $24M just on their RD?

Speculating on two years from now is so difficult. ADA has some RFA years left. Perhaps he is agreeable to signing a long term deal which keeps his cap hit down. Say 7 years at $4.75m per season. Fox is two years away from any bump in pay. He’ll also have a bunch of RFA years left. If he gets a long term deal right away his cap hit may be manageable. Trouba at $8m with expansion and the new TV deal may look more like $6-6.5m today in terms of % if cap in 2 years when Fox needs a new deal.

You dont trade a young RHD who is producing at the NHL level because you have perceived depth at the position in the system.

The Rangers wont move Trouba since they just A. Moved assets for him and B. Resigned him to a long term deal. He is playing very well.

They wont move Fox due to his contract status and the fact they moved assets for him. He is exceeding expectations.

They wont move ADA unless he wants something crazy in a new contract. He is exceeding expectations as well currently.

You can't have enough depth on the right side. That can't be understated. Especially when all 3 are 25 and younger.

You revisit this situation summer of 2021. Use the asset(s) to fill a gap in the organization if all three keep progressing and the likes of Lundkvist keep progressing and are knocking on the NHL door.

Yeah the only scenarios I see are

A) One of ADA/Trouba is dealt along
B) One of the 3 RD switches to the left

Of course, in theory one could play the third pairing, play both PP and PK (Such as Trouba or Fox) and still log major minutes. It would be a weird situation though. The Rangers prospect pool and existing youngsters are so much stronger at the defense position that it's hard to imagine not having a D-for-forward trade eventually.
