Some minors moves Gorton could do. Thoughts?

1. Buch and Hajak for Sergachev

2. Strome to Boston for a 1st

3. Kreider to Calgary for a 1st

4. Skjei to MTL for a 1st

5. Fast, a 3rd in 19 and a 2nd in 20’ for Puljujärvi

6. Nils Lundkvist for Filip Zadina

7. Georgiev to Carolina for Gauthier

Line-up next season:
Zadina-Ziba-Kakko
Panarin-Lias-Pulju
Lemieux-Chytil-Gauthier
Gettinger-Howden-Fogarty
Miller-Trouba
Sergachev-TDA
Lindgren-Fox

Thoughts?
Where’s Byfield?:)

Was anyone tracking that Kakko played for two seasons with our 2018 5th round pick, Lauri Pajuniemi? I don't think I caught that before now.

The TPS connections are all over.

Our Finnish scout, Mikko Eloranta, is a maybe not legendary but not much short of that, TPS player:
Mikko Eloranta at eliteprospects.com

It’s pretty cool that in 16-17 both Georgiev and Reunanen played for TPS. In 17-18 all three of Reunanen, Kakko and Pajuniemi played for TPS, and Pajuniemi and Kakko in 18-19. Pat Virta was also there the first 2 years.

BTW, from one thing to another, I saw that Virta now got a teammate in Tappara named “Ben Blood”. Hockey players’ names are the best.

And former Rangers 1st rounder Lauri Korpikoski plays with Pajuniemi now as well

Did anyone catch Chris Kreider standing near the Rangers bench watching Bruins celebrate winning the game in OT? Kreider must have been envisioning himself playing for that team in the next 3 months. He has 14 goals in 65 games in the calendar year 2019. Even his biggest supporter Larry Brooks acknowledged in his column discussing Kreider and Mats Zuccarello that Kreider is not the same player he was last season. Kreider was terrific in the first 3 months last season. He had 20 goals before the ball dropped in Times Square. Kreider is playing with Mika Zibanejad and Pavel Buchnevich. The Rangers have reunited that line to get Chris going but nothing so far.

The Rangers traded Kevin Hayes and Zuccarello at the trading deadline rather than pay them. Hayes has 12 points in 26 games. Zuccarello has 12 points in 22 games. I remember there were people here including Brooks advocating for the Rangers to pay Hayes. All of that for $50M. For all of the love the Ranger fans have for Zuccarello, the Rangers are better off without him. The guy is signed until he is 37 at $6M AAV.

Kreider is in the same boat. The Rangers shouldn't pay him. The Rangers aren't going to fall apart if the Rangers trade Chris. The Rangers are in a better spot this season. Artemi Panarin and Kaapo Kakko weren't here last season. Kaapo needs more playing time anyway. The Rangers need to get him in the 16-18 minutes per game range. He was starting to put it together and the flu forced him to miss two games. He is struggling to find his game. Filip Chytil is a different player. Buchnevich is a much better player now. The young D are better.

Kreider needs a change of scenery and the Rangers can’t afford him anyway. Time to part ways.

I also would never have put Kreider out on the first PP unit in the Bruin crease with Chara out there....you just KNOW he would not do anything to get Chara off his focus . I would have went with Lemieux who has no fear and would have drove Chara crazy like he was doing at the end of the game . I'll be a happy camper when he is in a new city . What a waste of God given talent .

Was odd seeing Kreider staring at the Boston players almost wishing or imagining he was with them.

CK would make them stronger and we all know Boston has tried and most likely will try again to aquire him.

I hope the Rangers don't wait until the deadline if they are going to deal him it would be to deal him sooner rather then later as this would give Kappo more time and whomever may also be in the trade.

We know Boston has a ton of kids that could fit in nicely with the Rangers.

Personally I like Heinen but I'm not sure Boston will deal him--some others:

Frederic
Vaakanainen
Andersson
Bjork
Lauko
Studnicka

Shoot for the moon. Heinen, Lauko, 1st or Lauko, Bjork, Vaakanainen/ Andersson, 2nd.

Toronto has gone through half a dozen back up goalie candidates and Hutchinson **** the bed tonight. 0-4-1 4.44GA .879. George was .970 against the leafs in 2 games last season. It wouldn't be a hard sell. Andersen and George can split 2-1. They'll need a top backup if they want to claw back into the playoffs. There's no chance the leafs don't make a goalie upgrade between now and when Andersen needs a night off. They need every point.

ONLY if the Leafs have a top prospect to send the Rangers in exchange IMO. Otherwise, I see no reason to help out a young and talented team like Toronto who could be a thorn in the Rangers side for years to come. Let them pay up yet no discounts for that talented and young bunch.

all posting about Kreider to Boston is a really good call IMO. Yeah, they cannot have a repeat of the Blues series again. A large Kreider could be the difference for them and the Rangers might get a large return.

I like the fit

The way Kreider is playing, we won’t get the moon. Hoping for a small to medium asteroid.

I think most of us would deal Kreider to Boston for their 1st plus a younger guy that needs a change like Frederick

Can Kakko slide to LW ? Strome could get resigned and play more RW

The plan at C looks like Zib, Chytil, Howden

Something g to keep in mind, when Kreider was on the WJC roster I went to a game at RPI to see them play the Engineers. Kreider unfortunately didn’t play however he and Coyle were clearly good friends as they hung out by themselves most of the game.

I'll take one Jake DeBrusk please.

I dont want the same thing to happen this year... with the moping.

I'm also ready for Kreider to be traded and to go into permanent beast-mode.

Studnicka and a 1st for CK sounds good to me.

I really think Frederic would be the guy they’d target. He’s a big body who can play a physical style. Probably needs another half a season to full season in the AHL. Probably tops out around 15-20g

You wouldn't have put one of if not the best net front power play guy in the NHL.... In front of the net on the power play?

They asked for Frederic for Nash and Boston said no

I would assume he’d be available for Kreider though. Although I’d like a prospect with more upside
