I love me some righty shots. 23 years old. Would love to take a look at him not sure he lasts to our pick though.

Soshnikov seems like he has the higher floor. He's a safe, 4th line player. Zykov still can be a middle 6 sniper if he puts it together, but has the lower floor. I'd take either considering our injury situation and Zuccarello situation right now.

I actually meant traded for, but it turns out he didn't do that either. Got my timelines messed up. Still think Pitt puts in a claim.

Pitt just claimed Dea back from NJ. Wouldn't that claim put them to the back of the line?

I wonder if the KHL has something to do with this. Teams may know that if they claim him, he may leave

He is under contract and AFAIK, the NHL and KHL are still honoring each other's contracts. For Zykov to leave, whichever team acquires him would have to agree to the loan or agree to terminate the contract.

Back of the line priority order doesn't exist in the CBA. The language only mentions standings and then tie breakers based on goal differential, etc. As far as I understand it, that's not the case anymore.

I know we don't want our alumni going to Pittsburgh, but:

-They desperately need a middle six forward.

-Brassard is struggling and has never seemed the same since we traded him.

-Brassard and Zuccarello are practically family.

-The Penguins have their 2019 1st and a very interesting project in Daniel Sprong who needs more ice time.

Check, check, check, and check.

I'd be ok with this. Pittsburgh wouldn't be though. That 2019 1st is looking like a potential lottery pick.

I'd do the 2019 1st straight up or Sprong and a 2019 2nd.

Hugh Jessiman really propels that group into borderline top 5 contention.

I'm frightened by how much Gettinger reminds me of Jessiman physically.

But I like Timmy Gettinger a lot. I think we might be getting Brian Boyle back if everything shakes out.
