"Lundqvist is important to Rangers and Quinn made the right to visit him in Sweden. That's not what I responded to. Quinn ended up meeting Lundqvist, Mika Zibanejad and Jesper Fast while in Sweden.

At the same time, Mats Zuccarello was home in Norway. He lives only a three-hour drive from Gothenburg, but did not hear a word from coach Quinn."

Quinn messed up there...

But now it's behind them, and the best relationship has been restored.

Why did he mess up? If it was so important, and it's only 3 hours away, Zuccarello could have traveled to Goteborg. Quinn didn't mess up. He traveled to Sweden to see 3 players who were already there. Why should he travel to another country to see a 4th?

Norwegians are so emotional when it comes to Zuccarello

Kvatningen is an idiot. And a Pens fan.
And he has blocked me on twitter for questioning his journalism haha

Really...well I have a different opinion about him. He has a lot of knowledge, and he runs a digital hockey magazine.

And everything he wrote in that very good article is true.

Ryan Spooner has 4 games 0 pts -5 - so that some good news since Strome have 2 pts already with goal in 5 games -2.

I was reading up on the Bruins and they are having a tough time identifying a third center to go with Krechi and Bergeron. This in time might be the perfect destination for Hayes. The Bruins have all of their top draft picks and plenty of prospects. They are a win now team.

Other thought comes from my scout friend...if Hurricanes don’t get Nylander, they have 5 quality NHL defensemen, Fleury and Bean in the AHL and Fox on deck. There’s plenty of ammunition for a deal there. Maybe two. They really need scoring. He didn’t have a current read on Bean and Fleury but liked both when they were drafted. The Rangers could certainly use at least one more quality defense prospect.

Do you think that the Rangers have a chance to sign Fox as a FA?

Yes, but he is only a junior so free agency is a ways away. Calgary moved him because he wouldn’t sign there. Rumor has been strong he wants to play in New York area. If he doesn’t sign with Carolina when Harvard’s season ends, he will be moved.

I do want us to get a legit center, and that's easier said than done, but we're a 1C away from being straight up bullshit at forward.

Kreider-1C-Panarin
Kravtsov-Zibanejad-Chytil
Andersson-Howden-Vesey/Buchnevich (you can flip the other one)

That's the type of shit nightmares are made of. My concern, if you could call it that, is that we'll have this forward group, and a defense corps that can't keep up with it.

Remember, this time next year the D could look tremendously different. Add two more solid D men to this team and remove some
of the filler (whether that be kids who step up next season, incoming trades, draft, etc.) to go along with the forward group you’ve laid out - plus - a hungry, old but nowhere near dead hall of fame goalie with a solid, young backup..

Now sir, that is the **** dreams are made of..

Just give me Pionk on the third pair and PP1 instead of on the top pair.

Miller-ADA
Hajek-Keane
Skjei-Pionk

You also have Lundkvist and Lindgren.

But that could be 4 years away.

Agreed. Quite the upgrade that could turn out to be.

It`s the same situation with all UFA status players @Webster - look at Panarin & Sergei Bobrovsky their starter goalie will be UFA next summer. No Franchise want a John Tavares kind of situation with players who have value in the open market. So if you like it or not Zucc is more likely playing on another team near the TDL next year in March. But who knows what kind of team, and maybe they don`t have cap to sign Zucc in the summer - so it wil be a new Erik Staal kind of situation for him.

Perhaps Rangers sign him again or pick him up as UFA, but it all depends of cap reasons and what are they going to do with with Brady Skjei, will they keep Brendan Smith, will they resign Hayes or risk losing him in the summer or deal him at TDL and bring back a late 1st?

And that`s why I seldom read Nettavisen, because they lack basic understanding how the trade system work in connection with NHL and they use words like disappointing. Anyway if Mats feels healthy like MSL - he will probably play for another 6-8 years for sure, but more likely with another franchise. It`s seldom you see players only play for one franchise like the Sedins with Nucks.
