He is a below average skater, for sure. He was drafted with subpar skating and defensive ability and not much has changed. By all accounts he is a really, really weird guy. And this was ultimately the main factor to him dropping out of the 1st round come draft day.

I am glad we took a shot on him. He is still young and maybe needs a change of scenery. He put up gaudy numbers at one point in his career and maybe he unlocks that here. He is good when the puck is on his stick in the offensive zone.
Gaudy?
His offensive numbers are worse than kakko.
His defensive numbers aren’t better and he’s not a playmaker.

Panarin Chytil Kalyiev
Cuylle Trocheck Laffy
Berard Zibs Smith

Recalibrating. I know it breaks up the only line working but the top9 needs more

How the tram has to run through him and he wont lead.

How he has always half assed like half a season.

How he pouts with his buddy zib.

How we finally get two high picks but the team has more interest in keeping him happy than developing talent.

How he is massively overrated by rangers fans. Bc of one extremely lucky 50 goal sason.

And you know all this how? Sounds like a lot of projection with no quantitative substance behind it.

I think we're getting

Panarin-Tro-Laf
Kaliyev-Mika-Smith
Cuylle-Chytil-Berard
Vesey-Carrick-Edstrom

Rempe in for Vesey against NJ by the looks of it.

If he were a leader, he would be made captain. He wasnt, and from all accounts he is funny and tries to make things lighthearted but doesnt really lead. Also he has not been taking younger players under his wing. Not until this year he tried with kakko at practice to help him with tip ins. It was reported Kakko had like no support system when he first got here.

he has always been known to disapper for stretches. People on tbese boards were saying it from his rookie season on. He has always been inconsistent and some games wuite frankly he looks like he doesnt try. Bc when he does try he plays on a completely different level.

I believe there was a report recently saying that him and zib and maybe another vet or two really dont integrate as much with younger players.

The point about keeping him happy, sure its projextion. But he is longest tenured ranger, who never got benched or demoted while going through rough patches and is looked to be a “leader”. Also was reported that he was very unhappy this year so yes pouting.

I get it, hes your favorite ranger and you will never find fault with him. My feelings on him have changed drastically over the past 4 years.

Quite frankly the sooner we rid him the better, thst goes for zib and panarin too.

We need to let Laf and co lead. The sooner the better. Kreider had his time, now step aside.

That's right! May he retire a Ranger!

I was not a fan of how he spoke about his back injury to Mollie a few weeks ago. Felt a lot like Trouba's " a chunk of my ankle was missing but it didnt effect me" spiel from the playoffs. Excuse making culture.

With all the stuff we heard about "unhappy vets" who could it possibly be? Trouba and Goodrow are gone. Kakko was unhappy and he's gone. Panarin and Kreider don't speak to the media. Mika is a basket case. Trocheck is the only guy with the guts to speak up in the room. That's a problem.

The whole Kreider/Rangers situation is weird. Kreider is over management and the Rangers are over Kreider. He doesnt want to leave though if I had to guess. Maybe the injury is further too this. Kreider blaming the injury for his poor play but the front office aint buying it? As Brooks said, the healthy scratc when he is apparently not healthy is weird wording.

so brooks doesn’t understand that a guy who says he wants to play, and isn’t giving 100%. Needs to be sat to understand that “if you can’t give 100%, then you’re not playing”
No. Brooks is asking why the Rangers made a point of saying that it was a healthy scratch instead of attributing it to his back issue. Why put that information out there? Why give the perception that it's something other than health?

Maybe they were trying to downplay the health issue but implying that there is a reason other than health doesn't exactly help his trade value either.

Just concentrate on removing some of the UFA's to be and Kreider. That's the play and that's a HEAVY LIFT over the next couple of months.
Yeah but they aren’t going to give CK especially after his production the past few years. This year it’s been confirmed he’s been injured so we shall see how it plays out

Laf? You say Kreider disappears for long stretches (I dont disagree)....and where has Laf gone for the majority of his career (last year - a contract year - not withstanding)? Laf as a leader at this point in his career based on his on-ice play? Can't see it.

Saw this retweeted. Rangers still very interested in JT. Starting to give me Patty Kane vibes a little. Pens also very likely trading Marcus Pettersson. I would be interested in trading for him as long as it came with an extension. Really good player who fits our needs. Dubass was scouting Hartford a few weeks back.
