It has to be in some peoples minds. This is a dark ages type a trade. Trade a 22/23 year old on a decent contract for a guy who has another year or 2 before he does the Mika drop off.

Yeah I agree. The guy I would never have got rid of would be Chytil but his inability to stay on the ice is concerning. Either way Mika has to be going back . There is no way we can have two contracts like Mika and Miller on this team.

Staple has been trying to trade Lafreniere for Garland since since 2022 for some reason.

It made no sense from the beginning and it makes no sense now, especially not now after he started playing well last season and signed his extension this year.

Thanks goodness and lets hope that's true. Getting rid of Schneider would just expose this d even more. This team should not be trading any early 20 somethings for guys in theor third 30's with monster contracts. If they make a trade with a chip like K'Andre it has to be for a young center or dman. I know its not easy but that is what Drury gets paid the big bucks for.

I am not only one of the biggest Rempe booster's, I am the first one on these boards. This is an indisputable fact.
Matt Rempe should have stayed in Hartford and continued his development. On the Wolf Pack he was getting top line minutes and playing on both the Power-Play and Penalty Killing units.
When he was sent down at the beginning of the season he was centering the fourth line with ECHL line mates and he was on ice for for a lot of goals against. As soon as as the organization had the coach change that decision, Rempe blossomed.
Bringing him up was a desperation move made by a desperate GM trying to spark the big club.
Just an observation not backed up by any knowledge, I believe Rempe lost his discipline trying to earn the favor of his GM, Coach and Teammate's.
It cost Rempe 8 games and made the target on his back bigger than it already ready was.
Matt needs to stay in Hartford and continue getting big minutes in big situations.
Thinking that keeping Rempe up with the Rangers playing 5-7 minutes a night as a 12/13th forward is counterproductive and will not turn around this season in my opinion.

They are getting younger with Perreault, Othmann, Mancini coming down the pipe on the heels of Cuylle, Edstrom and Berard. They are going to move out the veteran core, that's the mandate and the thing Drury has signaled most clearly. I personally would trade Schneider in a deal for Miller but it has to encourage people pining for the youth movement that Drury wont, no? The team is still going to need veterans to lead them and if the scuttle that Trocheck has the inside track on the captaincy it makes sense to get someone close to him to be part of the veteran leadership group.

As much as I’ve shit on Lafreniere and I love garland, I don’t know if I want to burn the Lafreniere asset on him. If we are going to trade Laf I’d hope it was for someone like Tkachuk/Pettersson. Obviously those guys have to be available.
