or you just have no idea what youre talking about lol. NHL GMs establish the market. Teams wanted Trouba - thus he had positive value. Not that hard to understandit's not my fault GM's are stupid for defenseman who throw Big Hitz. he should've had negative value.
Miller has the intangibles nowThe simple reason, whether it really is that simple or not, is that they see their team as outright better and more competitive in an overt way with Miller than Pettersson at the helm. Miller seems like a better leader and has been a better playoff performer. Their owner may just like him that much more.

Agreed. I think the canucks would absolutely do it.I’d do it just to be rid of Mika’s contract, but I wouldn’t be happy about adding Miller. I don’t know if the canucks would even make that trade.
No to 3.The only way Miller makes sense is under a few scenarios:
1) the cost is very minimal
2) Zibanejad is going the other way in exchange
3) Drury can trade Zibanejad and use those same assets, or equal value in assets, to acquire Miller
Sure, I’ll listen to offers, but it would have to be equally young franchise center type or #1D type.I may be in the minority here, but as much as I would love to see Perreault in a Rangers uniform - If there is a player (not Miller) who could be had that is a cornerstone type of guy and a center (and younger) to build around I wouldn't have a problem moving him in the deal.
Watching him at BC and the WJC - he is the same type of non-contact, just OK skater who is very similar to the type of veterans we are having issues with in NY.
And his value is very high. It would be a risk for sure, but given the Rangers track record in developing young forwards - lets just dangle him out there for a proven elite player who fits the mold.
Not to mention im kinda sick of watching and waiting for young forwards to blossom in the franchise. Its excruciating. Fit a winner in here with the same age path of the current youth core.
McDavid probably a pipe dream. Kaprizov would be a nice get.lets just start saving for McDavid, Eichel, Kaprizov or Necas.
Yes but the sad part is, that still wasn’t a top 10 center in the league.can we not retcon how good mika was, he’s had a nightmare, horribad season but at his peak he was a f***ing monster. does your memory not extend past 2 years?
from 2018-2023 he was our easily best center since messier part 1

Need a center badly though. Maybe Hagens?

I’d entertain it at least but they can’t stop there. Keep hunting for young players. I would want a young forward and a prospect for Kreider, see if I can get picks for Mika. Draft Hagens with our own first. You could have quite the young top 6 forward group and then just have to work on the defense. A defense which still has Fox by the way so the hardest job there is done.Id trade Laf before Gabe for Pettersson
I don’t know about that.At his peak he absolutely was.
Pre Covid Mika was a baller.

I don’t think it’s a retcon to say Zib wasn’t a t10 center in the NHL during his time here. He was 100% on track to being t10 in the 19-20 season prior to the Covid shutdown, but prior/since? Something like t15-20 and trending exponentially downward since the beginning of 23-24.
It’s the one year where he worked out with Kreider in the off season. Magically had his best season. I wonder what changedAt his peak he absolutely was.

I honestly think him becoming a husband and father has shifted his priorities and passions in life. That's not even a shot at him - it's completely understandable. Just sucks for the Rangers. It’s the one year where he worked out with Kreider in the off season. Magically had his best season. I wonder what changed
Finally someone else with sense. But still we get Mika deals all day every dayMy question becomes why Mika waives for Vancouver? Is that situation one he wants to go to? I wouldn't speculate anything regarding Zibanejad.

What would Minnesota even be willing to send usWould Mika waive for Minnesota? His BFF is there. The Wild will have the space this summer. I have a friend who is a Manhattan real estate broker. She had an open house many years ago. 17 or 18. Some homeless looking guys with long hair, facial hair and ripped jeans showed up at an open house event. She wanted to call security until someone working for said those guys play for the Rangers. They were not escorted out of the building. She asked me if I knew them. They had weird names. Yeah. Mika Zibanejad and Mats Zuccarello. Yea them. I told her they were making $5M each give or take $500,000. Really? She thought they were homeless. Guerin has the buyout money coming off the books.
