It's the Rangers way. One dimensional soft players. $11.6M. 7 more seasons.
What is the ceiling or a guy like Nic Hague in LV ? Big kid and an RFA . Left side guy making a bit over 2 Million . He fits a hole if he can play ....I never watch the late games so I honestly do not know how high he is valued by Vegas .

Like Kakko, jones is right. He is better than Lindgren and K'Andre. The problem is, throwing your teammates under the bus isnt going to get you want you want, unless its a trade. These guys havent played well enough themselves either. Just further belies a lack of leadership and accountability in the room.

Not only we are those able to see what Lindgren brings to stay in the lineup. Insubordination cannot be encouraged and we know where it’s stemming from but while Kreider has been benched, Zibanejad moved down the line and taken off PP1, what rightful repercussions for his play Lindgren has suffered?
I don't know why Lindgren hasn't been scratched, I'm not Peter Laviolette.

That's separate from Jones skating to the goal line for no reason leading directly to odd man rushes and goals against.

Unless Jones figures out how to win a single puck in the defensive zone, or score more than a point every 4 games, he won't be an NHL player.

That's just the reality. There's a reason guys like Honka are playing in Europe. He couldnt get the puck off of Brett Berard if he tried.

And yes, Urho sucks worse.
Once the league goes full blown rec hockey then guys like Jones will do well out there .

Jones could at least pass the puck, which made him a nice point of difference from most of our D corp. He and a steady partner should have been able to provide a cheap and useful bottom pairing.

Certainly still some holes in his game, but they'd only be filled in by regular playing time (ideally in a system with a sensible defensive scheme)

Jones can have some f***ed up moments, and as an NHLr you have to be able to red the play, but I can't 100% blame the players for a system that asks them to try and pinch for pucks. Fox does it all the time, but he's really good at it. However, not a single other D-man is good at it, and as soon as they f*** up, it's going back the other way for an odd man rush.

Jones at least gave us some offense with him in the lineup, but you're going to f***ing play Borgan over him.

You can't wipe the entire roster of veterans and expect things to go well. That was the one part of the rebuild that the Rangers got half-right; They added veterans to the roster to insulate the kids. Where they went wrong was that they overpaid them and turned the team over to those guys instead of the kids that they drafted.

Trocheck is a good player. He's one of the few vets who actually seems to give a shit. No reason to move him this season unless a team blows your doors off with an offer and he's willing to waive to go there.

I guess it depends on how you define veteran. To me, the core of veterans would be Fox, Trocheck, Laff, Shesh, Schneider and Miller*.

* for Miller if he's not dealt in a hockey trade (e.g. MacTavish or Cozens)

JT sounds exactly like what this team needs even if people don’t like it

It's an interesting one. You want guys who are ruthless and demand, set and maintain a standard. But you also need guys who can work within a team environment.

In that anecdote, JT was apparently told that while others agreed with his take, his delivery method could lead to issues. It sounds like JT changed nothing and eventually it has led to him (and probably not just him) breaking Pettersonn/the lockerroom.
If JT comes in here and demands accountability that's great; if he comes in here and breaks Laf, or the next high pick we get, because he's just inflexible and can't communicate properly, I'm not sure it's still a good thing.

I'm not against JT if it gets Mika out of here, and I liked his first stint as a Ranger, but I honestly don't think you can bring him to this locker room with the way things are right now. IMO a team getting JT needs a captain who already sets the standard, can let Miller know where he fits in the hierarchy, can use him as a bit of an 'enforcer' within the playing group, BUT can also rein him in when needed. Nothing that's happened in the past few months makes me think we have that environment for him to walk into

Drury needs to sit down with Mika and ask him what he needs to get going or what the problem is. The guy is too young and talented to fall of a cliff like this. Something is going on.

Whatever place he waives his NMC for (if he even does) is going to result in the Rangers getting fleeced again by selling at the lowest point instead of figuring out how to get the player going.

This organization and its knee jerk reactions for underwhelming returns is really getting old.
Guys fall off a cliff at his age (and before) all the time.

You'd fire a coach because one particular player is unhappy?

It's not just a question of whether Jones should be in the lineup or not. One player playing instead of another right now is not going to fix this season and it's very questionable whether Jones is in the Rangers plans beyond this year even if Lindgren, Borgen and Vaakanainen aren't either.
I'd fire the coach because he's f***ING SHIT
