What does Domi's contract look like? He's listed as a center but does he play there? 25 years old, he put up 72 points last season. Had 44 this year but is he more of a 40 point guy or 70 point guy? If we are moving DeAngelo for him, i actually want Montreal to add

Certainly this board criminally underrates DeAngelo. He's worth a Yandle return.
And you're right, Lindholm would do well here. It's not like with Nylander where it's an actual gamble if he can play center; Lindholm can and is defensively sound.
But I just don't think the Flames sell him for ADA. It doesn't make sense for them.
In reality, I haven't seen a single proposal, not even my Domi proposal, that I really love for ADA. I'd much rather keep him
As for LD, I want to see what Miller brings. Hajek, Jones, and Reunanen are also coming up so one of them is bound to stick. I don't see the urgency in the LD department. I think we have a nice collection of pieces there.

Now if MTL wanted to do Buch and a small add for Domi, I wouldn't think twice about it.

What is everyones fascination with Domi? He's fairly average, he routinely gets pushed off the puck due to his lack of size, and has been playing on the 4th line on one of the weakest forward lineups in the nhl. I don't get it.

I like Domi, but I feel like he's one of those guys the board has always lusted after. Maybe even despite his shortcoming and flaws.

From a style stanndpoint, I think Domi could work here, though I do wonder if he's another guy who is more comfortable setting up the pins than knocking them down.

With our wingers, a set up man is probably perfect. If you look at his goals, a lot of them are hustle/garbage area goals similar to Stepan.

if we are actually thinking of moving Deangelo, it should be for a cost controlled young center, a LD or a 1st rounder. Moving him for a guy like Domi only hurts our cap and doesnt really make us better as he would be playing in the bottom 6.

Well Buch was almost traded for a pick in that range, so we're not that far off on value.

And I'd dare say ADA has more value than Lundkvist, or at worst, close.
I keep forgetting about that Buch trade lol.

Ducks fans seemed to want a young 1st liner +. Like Boeser + 1st + Demko. If not more. Obviously he’d cost less than what Ducks fans what but if they want a forward in return that kind of ends the call for us. He’s literally the best defenseman they’ve ever drafted and developed. I just feel like he’s going to be really expensive.

And BTW, I just realized a disconnect (I had the same one at first when I jumped into the conversation).

We're talking about Lindholm from Calgary not Anaheim.

You could make the same claim about the Rangers though.

Who trades a 24 year old, RHD, who scored at an 18 goal 64 point pace, and has scored at roughly a 60 point pace for a year-and-a-half?

I mean technically, ADA scored one last point as a defenseman than Lindholm did as a top six forward. And he played two less games.
I suppose yeah

But ultimately I would reckon DeAngelo being moved is financially motivated. I’m not sure anyone really wants to move him just to move him. That’s just the reality of a salary cap world

:dunno:

No it wasn't. I said as much as I like Krav is time to move him for a similar C prospect. I didn't say he was a bust. I even said that unless NYR decide to move Buch if Krav was ready. I meant it as is it time to move him because we have our wings set.
I would avoid trading players - well, goalies aside - because of a perceived logjam. These things tend to work or organically. Now if all of them are playing well and space is needed, I’m sure a deal can be done. Maybe even with a bidding war. But as for Kravtsov, I think he gets painted with the Lias brush a bit unfairly. He should still be developing and growing his game (and value). I wouldn’t move him unless he was getting full value as a young top sixer. (Which I wouldn’t expect now).

You should be, on a team desperate for forwards he can't crack the top 9 and thats not what his cap hit dictates.
I'm not worried about that, we have a good track record of taking guys from other teams and getting good use out of them. If he is supposed to be that bad, he shouldn't even cost DeAngelo which is even better for us

I’d try and keep it simple and not add too much cap. See if someone like Haydn Fluery is available from Carolina, would be a nice partner for Trouba as they have a lot of bodies on the left side. It just makes sense to move Buch, would like to keep him but it’s a numbers game, would Edmonton give up #14 here? Lastly see if you can pluck a Cirelli, up and coming center with the right amount of experience and upside. The kid is all over the ice. Send them the Carolina pick and maybe small add like Tarmo Reunanen or Rykov. Cirelli will either take the #2 c spot and flourish or be an awesome 3 c. I do think Ada is trade bait but maybe after you bridge him and he’s again putting up points, right now he’s just a one hit wonder.

So lets take other peoples garbage and then have to resign them for 5 mill a year. Makes sense, lets just max out our cap so we don't have money to keep the players we drafted.
