Where is this Barkov stuff coming from? Is this an 'I hope he's available' or like something with an actual source?

Maybe Chiarelli will be Florida's new GMWhere is this Barkov stuff coming from? Is this an 'I hope he's available' or like something with an actual source?
Ekholm and Bonino are perfect
Ekholm Trouba 'matchup pair' and Bonino for 'matchup/PK/defensive duties'
Cirelli would cost Chytil ++ or ADA.
They may be in a Tavares situation soon... If he does not have any intentions on signing with FLA... it would be better to trade him with some term and get a much better returnFlorida is looking to slash salary but I doubt Barkov at $5.9 million is on the chopping block. They are already losing Hoffman and Dadonov to UFA.
Gonna be interesting. Plus we have guys who are up for new contracts and also have Carolinas pick. I see the Rangers being very busySo fascinated to see how they actually move forward building the team from here.
Addition of the 1OA and likely Lafreniere is such a game changer in terms of what is in play
.
Their cap issues are way deeper than that.Tampa wouldn't want ADA. They traded him once.
They're a well run team they are not going to give up on Cirelli. They'll trade Palat and Killorn or flip Coleman before they trade Cirelli.
Yeah, I feel like any way you slice it with any problem they have, trading their best player by a mile isn't going to be the way they find out of itFlorida is looking to slash salary but I doubt Barkov at $5.9 million is on the chopping block. They are already losing Hoffman and Dadonov to UFA.
But then again the players they'd like to move (Matheson, Stralman, Bobrovksy) have untradeable contracts.
I’d consider moving Kakko (+ Staal?) and Strome for Eichel. We have incredible depth on both wings: Panarin, Kreider, Laf, Lemmy/Kakko, Buch, Kravstov, Gauthier. Chytil may end up a winger. Barron may end up a winger. Center depth wins championships. Zib and Eichel would be absolutely elite center depth. It would be a tough pill to swallow, but Eichel is still super young and it propels us into our window much faster. We’ll be lucky if Kakko becomes 90% as productive as Eichel, and that’s not factoring position importance. Highly unlikely and all, but worth mulling over.
It would take more. Plus makes no sense to trade Kakko who is a big part of our future. You also need to pay Eichel the sane money Panarin is getting. That’s why moving up last year and winning the lottery this year is great because we don’t have to burn assets or money to acquire talentI’d consider moving Kakko (+ Staal?) and Strome for Eichel. I wonder if Nurse could be pried out of Edmonton after the series they had. His extension kicks in next year and the Oilers could use depth scoring and a goalie. I think that's the sort of thing that would get Gorton listening on Buchnevich, who we know Edmonton liked at the draft last year.
If Hank or Staal retired the Rangers would have the cap space for it. He's young enough to be part of the solution and his contract is short enough to walk away from if he's not and/or gets bumped off the mountain by a younger guy.
Like when Chicago could use guys like Handzus and late career Brad Richards at 2C because they had Kane, Hossa, Sharp. With the wings they have, their 2nd line center doesn’t have to be a star. He just has to be able keep up and distribute the puck.
Give Chytil a good long look there next season.
I’m a big Chytil fan. I think he had the ability to be a playmaker but needs to start doing it more going into next yearWith the wings they have, their 2nd line center doesn’t have to be a star. He just has to be able keep up and distribute the puck.

Basically the question was does the way you lost affect what you do in the off-season
He said yea they need to be harder to play against so they will take a look at things
