thank you for the detailed response, there was a response or two saying he is garbage, but i think getting him for kreider 1 for 1 could be potentially a win for us when looking back on it....He looked like a Norris Candidate, then they moved him to the right side and he like all Ds in this league playing on the wrong side started to struggle. You run out of time on the ice, have to turn into the ice and don’t have that easy ‘fore-hand’ break out option with a quick pass. The pressure is tougher because you have to make more difficult plays on a shift by shift basis, and eventually you will start to make mistakes, lose confidence and so forth. It happens to everyone, Buffalo will also ruin Dahlin if they keep him on the wrong side. Then someone will chip in and say that they themselves like it there and what not, but the results speak for themselves, nobody have the last decade and a half played well on the wrong side for like 3-4 years in a row. All top Ds always without exception play on the right side.
I think he could be a great pickup. Would love to get him.
These Panarin contract predictions are getting crazy. If he's really getting 12 million I am feverishly praying it's not from the Rangers.I dont believe teams will be lining up to sign these guys. They are solid contributors to their teams but had down years this season. They will need to find a team that will take a chance on them. And at 2-4 million which is what I think they will get it will be worth it. I believe most teams are concerned with signing the big name free agents. You give these guys a prove me contract and I do believe they will be tradeable to playoff contention teams. I hate to be following a Boston team but look at what the Patriots do.. they find the bargain guys, build them up and trade them.
On panarin. I believe that the only way he takes 11 is if it's the Panthers who dont have state taxes. To be able to match their deal, we need to offer 12-13m. And as good as the bread man is, if I'm going to throw out 13m on a player coming up in free agency I'll take hall who can carry a team points wise and teams have to game plan for.

It's been over two weeks since Larry mentioned Kevin Hayes. 13 days too long for him.
You're probably right. Which is what's scaring me. I think he's a terrific player but not league's-top-salary good.Yeah I'm only thinking that because of the contract skinner just got. I believe panarin is a much better player than skinner as in being a more complete player. Panarin is the top dog in free agency and skinner was barely being talked about. Skinner was overpaid because the Sabres have money and believe that they cant get anyone else to go there so they need to pay extra to get their max guys. Panarin was already looking at around 11m aav before this deal. Skinner and the Sabres just upped it by over paying by 2m aav. And if that only adds a million dollars to panarins deal, your looking at at least 12m aav. That's without competing teams trying to offer more than each other for him

ADA (I think of TDA as Travis D'Arnaud) and Ghost are pretty much redundant for me. I'd just as well keep ADA. Kreider for 11OA, though, definitely sounds good.Kreider and TDA for Gostisberre and 11th overall?![]()
I think I'd straw the line at like 9m frankly. If he wants to be a Ranger, great. If not, best off luck elsewhere. I know it's probably a pipedream.Which is why I personally would stay away. I'd offer him 11m and if he doesn't take it then he can play for the Panthers. I'm more than happy going the patriot way and getting the bargain guys who can be solid players for a short term deal and a few million each. That way we have more to deal at the deadline and can continue ue to stock up on draft picks to get our own elite talent. Allow our own albatross contracts to run out shatty Smith and Staal, unless we have a player that's ready to move up and even then I'd trade them with retention. Buyouts hurt us on the time that we will need it to sign and resign players when we begin to be cup contenders.
It's Nils
It is quite comical isn't it. Not surprising in any way though. And if it's true that teams have no interest in Shattenkirk at 50% this league is f***ing stupid. Are you telling me no team would offer him 2/3.325M per if he was a UFA? I find that hard to believe.I hate that Shatty and Smith are options for a buy out but our worst defenseman is not.
I forgot and google is too far awaySo... Lundkvist

rebuilding does not mean playing kids before they are ready or earn a spot just for the sake of claiming you are playing more kids. I think we had the youngest team in the league
