My take on it was always that he might want to continue playing after his contract expires. If he does he might take a trade to a team of his choice before the deadline next year. Imo if he plans to retire after after contract he finishes the contract out here.

Don't remember but we shall see how quickly they cool off on their infatuation with Kravtsov.

I agree, however I do think that Chytil and Kravtsov are quite far apart as prospects go, kravtsov as an injured player playing out of position was one of the best players in the world juniors, Chytil wasnt used in a top 6 role most of the tournament when he was there. I'd honestly see Kravtsov playing on the 3rd line with Fast/Lemieux and Howden to start.

Everyone will bust right? Kid is a legit top 20(probably top 10) forward prospect in the league. Nobody is penciling him to run the first line and score 75 points his first season.

Chytil was coming off a neck injury and was pretty much the entire second line at the WJC

If some people get their wish and Panarin decides to sign here, I can't see any way Kravstov isn't playing on his opposite wing.

I wouldn't mind a couple buy low gambles like Pouliot, Grabner, or Stralman.

Low term, low salary, possible reclamation.

I feel like they started to die one Q got hired by Florida.

I hope they stay away from the Secondary market all together. So many mistakes waiting to happen are available this year.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see them sign some sort of fringe NHL guy(s) with good analytics that’ll probably be scratched half the year

If they can move a couple of guys I’d think guys like you described are a for sure. I’ve mentioned Petrovic, Lindberg, Bellemare. The only thing that throws a wrench in that is if they acquire one or two bad contracts, ala Callahan

I've seen quite a few posts already putting Fox ahead of ADA. Way too premature not only for next season but in general. Too high expectations from the get go will get you into another Vesey situation. Many were penciling him into top-2 lines right away. Two years later and Vesey is still kind of a misfit bottom 6.

The shiny new toy is always better than what you already have. Let the kid prove he's better to be placed higher up on the defence pairings. He may be better, but it's premature to state that right now. Wait for training camp/preseason.

Yes, if he was 28 years old. Truth is, he's on the wrong side of 30, closer to 40. Even Luongo knows his playing days are numbered.

Dallas wins game 7, Zuccarello re-signs in the offseason, that’s 5 1st round picks without dealing Kreider. Do you really think there’s a chance the Rangers will draft and intend to use an additional (5) 1st round picks in these next two years, including what they already have? I could see Kreider signed, and then he’s packaged and traded with a 2020 1st rounder for a coveted player.

If we can’t draft our own Panarin, we can at least start the conversation with Kreider and a 1st.
This has 0% chance of happening.

I think his thinking with the rebuild was always that he sticks it out and goes through the tough times and then is hopefully still around to get another shot or two. He wants to win a cup as a Ranger before anything else. The two are connected.

So I think his plan was as long as he’s still good maybe he resigns for another year or two when they’re starting to contend again.

His comments that he made were basically him saying, that’s what I wanted but of course if the kids end up out playing me and the Rangers want to move ahead with them and move on from me then maybe it leaves a possibility that I might play for another team.

He’s not saying he wants to leave or would ask for a trade in pursuit of the cup. He’s saying if the Rangers want to move on from him then it’s something that could happen. He’s basically saying it’s up to the Rangers if it comes to that.

Sorry if this has been asked:

Besides Kakko (or Hughes), which Rangers will be playing at the IIHC and for which team? I know Henrik, Fox, Kreider and Skjei are.

Henrik Lundqvist recommits to Rangers after eye-opening quote

https://nypost.com/2019/05/06/henrik-lundqvist-recommits-to-rangers-after-eye-opening-quote/?utm_source=twitter_sitebuttons&utm_medium=site buttons&utm_campaign=site buttons

“I’d like to clarify my statement because I feel it caused some unnecessary speculation,” Lundqvist wrote. “My thinking hasn’t changed. The organization and I are in the same page.

“What I meant is that a player never becomes bigger or more important than an organization. While it is still my goal to win the Cup in New York before I retire, at the same time I understand as a player that I have to respect the position we are in and process we are going through.”

Just like I thought. Nice to be right once in a while lol.

I'm a little confused about what Kravtsov's natural position is. Because from what I understand, he has spent most of his career and is more comfortable on his off-wing. Maybe someone can enlighten me. He shoots Left and Panarin shoots Right, so in a perfect world, this should be a good thing. Also, I still don't want Panarin.

Just like I thought. Nice to be right once in a while lol.

If by right, you mean that's not what he meant, I'd beg to differ. Lundqvist sees the writing on the wall. The Rangers have two potential candidates to succeed him. Guys who are both basically NHL ready. The Rangers aren't going to be cup contenders during his current contract (despite what some in here believe). As much as it saddens me, the reality is Lundqvist would be better off getting a shot elsewhere and the Rangers would be better off making room for their two potential successors to battle it out.
