Again, no one is saying that. At least not me. You are clinging to these comments seemingly based on me being against the Panarin signing or against trading for Trouba. It has now turned into "moves that teams that a contender is making". Why am I defending arguments that I am not making? Making points that no one is debating, while trying to make it fit into the context of what is actually being debated......Except that, unless you mean “looking to contend at some point,” you’re completely wrong that those are only moves made by teams looking to contend. Teams who haven’t quite gotten there make these moves all the time and the ones that win the Cup usually did as well.

Any thoughts of trading Georgiev right now are crazy. He’s a rising star. Until you are certain that Sherstykin is equal or greater, you don't trade the bird in hand. All things in due time..
Can you change your name to “I eat socks?”
I also think that's why you have to factor in two things:
1. The ability to identify a unique situation that could make it worth it for another team. That's why you see Arizona come up, and that's why I think Anaheim is a dark horse as well. If you can get reasonably close to the latter's draft position, perhaps using the former, and they like several guys in the "will they or won't they go in the top 10" category, you can potentially try and sell them on the idea of trading down five spots, but picking up additional picks (be it the Jets, Dallas, Tampa, some combo). That would give them three firsts, including as many as two additional picks in the top 60 for their troubles.
2. Speaking to the above, you're going to pay a premium to make a move --- and the Rangers do have the capital. It's more a question of how much of it are they willing to spend. But make no mistake, any move would not come cheap.

If it comes down to it, you're on.Can you change your name to “I eat socks?”
I’ve mentioned his name in here before but if Gorton can rid the team of a couple of guys on the back end AND is looking for an inexpensive RD stopgap who plays a heavier style, I’d look hard into Alex Petrovic. He’s had a couple of injury hindered seasons but he’s still young and he’s a guy who isn’t afraid to mix things up. Say as a 5-7 d-man he’d at least bring something they don’t have.
No I mean what do you do with 3 goalies? Is it true there was a rumor Shesty doesn’t wanna start in the AHL? Or is that fake news? I remember seeing something about that on here a while back. If it’s not true then I would assume you leave Shesty in Hartford for however long and maybe when the time is right find a taker for Georgie or package him in a bigger deal. Sorry if I came off like a dick with the initial post, I really value your opinion on here and was curious as to what the approach should be.
Yeah. I think for the most part these guys are pretty flexible. As long as there's a good reason and it's explained clearly. This was debunked. It was in another thread (god knows where at this point) where he said he would accept assignment to the AHL.
It’s totally ridiculous, but Viper, if we can trade Shatty and get a good return for Pionk — can’t we sign Dylan McIlrath?
It would make my soul whole again. I have a hole in the heart that never will heal as long as we are apart from McTruck.
If they were to sign marner or point to a contract that wouldn't be match, then the aav would be in the threshold of four 1st rounders anyways, so the Fox trade has no bearing. Still very unlikely, but cannot be dismissedThe Rangers can't offersheet anyone unless no 2nd or 3rd round picks are involved. They traded their 3rd or 2nd next year for Fox.
You definitely have a type.I’ve mentioned his name in here before but if Gorton can rid the team of a couple of guys on the back end AND is looking for an inexpensive RD stopgap who plays a heavier style, I’d look hard into Alex Petrovic. I think it’s more plausible that Shatty bounces back than some believe. If his knee is in good shape I could see him rebuilding his value, which is why I’m not in a rush to move him.I hope Shattenkirk is fully healthy and turns it around next season. I still dig that he came "home" for less. If it ends up working out that's a great story.
ehhhhhhhh that'd mean he's taking PP time away from ADA, Pionk or Fox.I hope Shattenkirk is fully healthy and turns it around next season. I still dig that he came "home" for less. If it ends up working out that's a great story.
If Shattenkirk proves he belongs on the PP, then he should play on it.ehhhhhhhh that'd mean he's taking PP time away from ADA, Pionk or Fox.
His Even-strength production was on par with his career average... It's time to move on, his services are no longer needed. If we're going to have a vet on the team, I'd prefer a stabilizing force.
He's f***ing TERRIBLE. Sweet Jesus, no. For reference, Staal is twice the player he is.I’ve mentioned his name in here before but if Gorton can rid the team of a couple of guys on the back end AND is looking for an inexpensive RD stopgap who plays a heavier style, I’d look hard into Alex Petrovic.
