Good move cap wise but the rest of this season feels like such a weird punt considering it was supposed to be an actual run

It was smart to do what we can now. We were not going anywhere built as is. I'd still move more but not a fire sale. Only trades that we for sure win. I definitely would not throw away Kreider. I would make it clear to him that his 5 on 5 play will be based on how much he hustles. I would move Mika BUT Mika has value so I would not give him away. I would look for value in return for Mika. I would move Lindy for a draft pick, prospect or any suitable replacement.

I dunno. I don't really believe that getting rid of one guy in Trouba is going to give the team the culture change Drury is after. I think Lindgren will go because the team (hopefully) sees the writing on the wall with his durability but I think another deep cut is needed from the older group.
I agree, one move isn’t enough. I would be looking to move everybody from the old core except Fox and maybe Panarin. But that’s how I see Drury operating.

That's fair. I think the transition is going to take some time. Especially with Mika. But I wouldn't be too surprised to see Kreider go before the deadline this season in a move that was a bit of a Gaborik to Columbus redux.

Did Drury say anything about Tkachuk? I'm pretty sure it was Larry Brooks, so I don't know what Drury would need to explain.

They literally didn’t read the article. Brooks said the same thing when Matt was becoming available and you didn’t see Treveling crying to his media rats about it

We’re going to send Kakko to the airport to pick him up as a gesture of goodwill but they’re both going to get lost in JFK and go missing for the next 72 hours before being found at a Wetzels Pretzels kiosk 10 feet from the exit
Kakko about to go into panic mode right now as we approach rush hour. He's not used to so many people around.
