We need Big Walt to start pulling strings here. I know Tom Fitz is in NJ but its much better for Brady and the Tkachuk's #brand for him to be in NY long-term. especially when it potentially sets up brother vs. brother matchups in the playoffs. Im sure the Devils want him, but I agree they arent going all out to get him right now imo. Rangers will.

I mean. There is more to market when you win and frankly, the Devils are closer to doing that. But again, the Devils made their moves and are playing great. They won't disrupt a working roster for Tkachuk. Especially mid-season. So that leaves just us. No need to overpay.

Off topic, but I love what NJ did this summer. They filled the holes they needed to fill with the right players without giving up much. I don't see them making a massive move like Tkachuk. They're Cup contenders this year as their team stands right now, IMO.

Yeah they did a great job. It doesn't hurt that everyone is healthy now too. People on here are too invested in rivalry that they can't objectively watch any other New York team. Carolina should take a page out of the Devils book and finally get a real f***ing goalie. Haha

Larry, who's been pretty much spot on again for at least a year, is saying this is only the beginning. I think it's fair to say it's somewhere inbetween these two things.

Larry's report about the Rangers going in for Brady is not signaling they're going to trade for him right now or as part of a Trouba trade.

It's about planting the seed publicly and especially in Brady's head that the Rangers want him.

Of course Ottawa shoots it down. Calgary would've shot it down if anyone suggested they were trading Matthew a year before he got traded.

But if Brady has it in his head the NYR want him and things continue to stall in Ottawa he could end up forcing their hand. You never know, not saying it's likely, but that's what leaking this is about. Communicating the Brady that we want you, just so you know.

Everything Larry reported about Trouba over the summer now obviously seems was all correct, the king still got it.

He's the only NYR beat writer worth paying attention to. Can't take it all at face value because his sources have their own motivations, but if he says something its at least worth analyzing.
