Worst case scenario for Trouba is a waiver wire in which he doesn't not get picked up(which is plausible given his large contract). If he got demoted to Hartford, that would be worse than almost any NHL destination possible.

Holik is Adonis compared to Brady.
Sure about that?

Everything Larry reported about Trouba over the summer now obviously seems was all correct, the king still got it.
I'll say it for the people in the back.

His opinions suck but he still has sources. If he says the Rangers are aggressively pursuing Tkachuk, Drury and Staios are absolutely talking.

We could have had an asset for Trouba if he had worked with us.

Now we'll get nothing and he will have no say in who claims him. Good job, Jake.

I'd do Shesterkin for Tkachuk straight up. Ride with Quick the rest of the season and then go find your next goalie.

He would refuse to report. He would have his contract terminated and he could sign anywhere for league minimum if his destination matters.

Half-jokingly this could very well be a requirement of the FO. We never look like the Islanders or the Canes aesthetically.
I remember a time during the Lundqvist years where we were always the best-looking team in the league. Like 3/4 of the dudes could be in GQ, and the other 1/4 looked like me--sort of okay, not causing kids to shit their pants because they are so ugly, etc. That never got us anywhere, so maybe we ought to go the other direction.

Yo... owners are billionaires who want to charge you higher prices and squeeze you for every penny.

They ruin franchises all the time like the Knicks. Never, ever, assume their interests align with the fans'.

They will sell our team and move it across the country if they thought it would make them richer and not hesitate more than two seconds to do it.

They want to win, but they will not hesitate to ruin a team and a fanbase to line their own pocket before winning every single time.

And yet in contract negotiations and trades their interests align more with ours. Also, while this is not true of all owners but I fully believe that more owners want a winning product than the players, especially long term. The Giants' reaction over the Jones benching and the Rangers' reaction over the Goodrow waiving and Trouba's as well basically tells me everything I need to know about the Rangers. Owners and GMs see them as assets and liabilities to winning (and sometimes stupid shit like marketability). Players see them as that dude that invited me to his son's birthday party and whose wife cooks a great mac and cheese. The owners' interests SOMETIMES align with ours, the players' interests NEVER align with ours.

I feel the same way, should just let Ruhwedel eat the minutes. But maybe Drury is willing to take a bath on this season and sees it as a transition season at this point. I doubt it but I agree, wouldn’t have called up Mancini.
Mancini isn't replacing Trouba. Schneider will be getting the important minutes, defending on the PK, tough assignments, 6 on 5, etc. Mancini is the 6th D. Subtle difference, but important.

Problem with Perreault is he's literally the only top 6 RW in the system. at lesat if you trade an Othmann or Laf, you're trading natural LWers for a natural LW. and Panarin/Cuylle will probably still be here.
Laffy and Cuylle can play the right. I don’t put much stock in winger positions.

I’d also prefer Tkachuk, Laffy and Cuylle in the playoff’s over a player like Gabe

Drury looks like a bum right now. I get the whole situation with Trouba is complicated and he's playing like shit, but it sends the wrong message when you're willing to put your captain on waivers just because he has a M-NTC and he refuses to be traded. It looks bad to the players, fans, and the rest of the league.
Wrong. It makes the players accountable for their performance.

That's exactly the message that needs to be sent to players right now. Who cares what it means for the rest of the league? Players will still want to sign in NY if they put together a winning team.
