Even when he was at his peak he played the same way. It’s just he was able to steal pucks, win board battles, and had a killer shot- but all of that was stick work. He never used his frame, never used burning speed, never battled in front of the net.

It’s that his whole game was built around having amazing hand eye, and it’s been bad for years now. He isn’t stealing pucks in the neutral zone, he’s fumbling easy passes, and he can’t strike a moving puck.

If Fox was playing like he was prior to signing his new contract I would say he is untouchable. He is still brilliant in close quarter phone booth type hockey with the his puck skills.
For whatever reason there has been a consistent decline with his on ice impact for the Rangers to the point where I am not in favor of allowing a NMC to be exercised on a player whose reputation significantly outweighs their current performance. Sad really.

It also appears that there is a rebellion by a group of Rangers players against general manager Chris Drury.

If Anaheim management feels the same way as the fans (admittedly doubtful), that's a player I'd love to see Drury pursue.

And by the way, they were very happy with Trouba’s quick decisions with the puck and his over all play. Small sample.

Then the answer to that should be to trade that group out. If they don’t want to be rangers and rather be butt pirates that’s their right but do it in the offseason. Hockey is a business. Don’t let the door hit you on your ass on the way out

Bleep this group. Trade them all; put them all on waivers. This is the most unlikeable/unwatchable group in recent history. They are soft both mentally and physically; acting entitled and like spoiled brats. They need thicker skin. It's a business; grow up.

On the plus side of all of this, tank for an early draft choice!

I think this makes it even more odd that there haven’t been consequences with regards to ice time for the saboteurs. Like what would it take for them to get benched? They’re mutinying ! lol. Is there disagreement between Lavi and Drury?

Idc what anyone says Panarin is the best player on this team and is still playing at a 46G 100+PT pace and I think he will age very well as he's not a player who's game depends on physical attributes and also has NHL mileage on his body than practically any player of his caliber. He shows fight when the rest of this team has thrown in the towel. That one instance a few games back where he was in a scrum all alone with legit 5 opposing teams players surrounding him and not another Ranger sweater in sight sums up this season pretty well. He will re-sign on a reasonable deal and be our lone star as we move on to the new core.

Keep Panarin & Igor

For the love of God call up one of the only fun things to ever happen to this organization in Rempe, he at least will give a f***.

Force Mika out one way or another

It's sacrilegious to criticize Adam "Eyeroll as he tilts his head back staring at the ceiling" Fox but we should've known about his character by the way he forced his way here. He is a lazy entitled malcontent and is slow as molasses and getting slower by the day. There are so many absolutely embarrassing plays where he simply gives up on a puck battle and lets the other player skate to it. If he were as good as his ego he'd be better than Bobby Orr. There is some weird thing where he's the second coming of Leetch & is from NY so you can't make the slightest criticism against him. The guy hasn't scored a goal since LAST REGULAR SEASON. We could get an absolute haul for him, and we should absolutely explore it.

Wow, someone actually speaks the truth about Adam Fox for a change. He isn’t a good skater, doesn’t have a great shot, doesn’t play physical. Sure he twirls around in circles to get ooh’s and aah’s, but he turns the puck over far more than people will admit.

PLot twist; the malcontents are actually Edstrom, Berard and Cuylle, so Lavi is punishing them with reduced ice-time...

I guess getting rid of 3 (Lavi might be 4) coaches wasn't enough. They're setting their goals higher now: GM

Honestly, screw this group. Drury might be cold blooded but he's doing these things in the interest of the TEAM WINNING. Period.

Goodrow and his 3.6M salary and 4 goal regular season was necessary.

Trouba and his 8M salary playing worse than most 6th D in the league was also necessary.

Feelings were hurt? EARN YOUR f***ING CONTRACT. Nobody is waiving or trading your ass if you're living up to your end of the deal. Screw them. And screw the cry babies in the room who need a safe space from Drury. In the immortal words of Goldberg: YOU'RE NEXT.
