The Avs don’t have anything they’d give up to make it worth it.

Also you’re essentially saying “tank for the next 6 years”
That’ll go over real well with the players.

Not signing him to 12x7 makes it worth it.

But, I'd take one last run this season and let him walk.

Not really worth dealing him for a soft return

Other than unnecessarily exacerbating the flow of the room I see no reason to healthy scratch Mika.

He's been terrible but the Rangers dont want to make a story out if it. And it's certain to become one if they do.

He is still fine (ish) on special teams. Especially on PK. Been saying for a season now they should switch Laf and him on PP1, but that's a follow up to the below if he doesnt respond (maybe he just can't at this point):

Limit his 5on5 time and give the Chytil line legit 2nd line minutes. Start there

I'm confused by this "expecting to go along with this no matter what you're saying over an NHL coach". That first half should be the case no matter who you discuss anything with ever. What's the relevance of the second half?

But what is so controversial about thinking that when the team was playing well they made better roster decisions than now when it's playing poorly and the dip in play came when the D pairings were changed? Do you really need some PhD in hockey to make this observation?

Another one of these "mentally weakest players in sports collapse mentally because their friend sits one game" takes?

No. not really.

I actually think its more about a media fest/unwanted attention than really disrupting the room. Not to mention the young tyke who shows up in his Mika jersey expecting him to play.

And hey, he's a veteran. You give those guys a little more time to come around at seasons start. I don't follow other teams closely but I'm sure there are several other vets like him who have taken a nose dive and have been given the respect to turn it around. (and yes, its been a lot longer trend than seasons start - i get that)

Does that mean they should cater to Mika's complaints of not getting more time? Hell no, not if his play continues this way. He should play less. I just dont see the advantage of not playing him AT ALL.

Management/staff isnt blind to it either. They tried to move on from Trouba and that was a messy attempt, but they tried - albeit in the offseason. Sending a message during the season by sitting one of the leaders of the team? I'm not sure how that really resonates around the room these days - nor with the individual. This isnt the 60s-90s. In some ways, unfortunately.

The room was fine despite the Igor contract circust early on in the year before Lindgren and Lavi destroyed this team.

Couldn't give two shits about the young tyke. Players get traded all the time, should we worry about the young tykes when that happens?

A contract negotiation is a lot different than healthy scratching one of your team captains.

As bad as it looks right now...I think it is not as bad as it is other than Miller . Mika is a slow starter and we have to wait until he comes out of it on his own .

I would like to see Lindberg without the modified facial gear and see if he can pick up his play . I would like to see Jones more and Mancini at every chance . Maybe we should look at our team defensive system and simplify things....just get it out ! Forwards need to slow down the breakouts until we are out of the zone .

Also...we need to be more physical and harder on rebounds and puck retrievals......so......get Rempe out there for a few more games and the team likes him . He brings energy to a team that needs it right now . Also...get Shesty deal done as it is a distraction for the club .

Move Miller for a capable dman ...he is done here . Somebody might see some upside in him....I don't . He is broken .

I mean, maybe the "flow of the room" needs to be changed

Don Lagreca’s new pod episode today is titled “The Mika Problem”.

And he’s a guy who always gives the players (and coaches, and gms) the benefit of the doubt.

This story is catching momentum , not just amongst us cynics on HFNYR

Easier said then done, but just give him a week or 2 to go off and sort out whatever is going. Take a break, heal up, reset, whatever. The Rangers don't really need him now, they need him in April, May and June, so take the short-term hit to see if you can have him ready when it matters most

Depends on what we think the most effective is for Mika. I’d be shocked if they gave him more than a game or two off unless he officially declares a personal leave

I doubt they'll give him any games off. That's not how hockey teams work (it also may not be the best course of action, but it's one I'd explore)

Best case scenario is they just give the other 2 lines more ice time and put laf on pp1. Mika even in this state is really good on the pk.

Glad they called Ruhwedel up. Mancini needs to play and he’s not ready defensively yet. Sit lindgren until he’s fully healthy and go with:

Miller-Fox
Schneider-Trouba
Jones-Ruhwedel

First 2 pairs were great to start the year and Jones has been solid every chance he’s gotten. Replace Ruhwedel eventually with either Lindgren, Mancini or a trade

1. KAM is still quality youth, try to figure it out and sell high if op for profit knocks

2. Peeps gotta recognize bern been sayin this and is factually correct. When Rempe plays, THEY WIN. Rem should be playing regular 4th line mins [10-ish per] AT THE NHL, NOT IN THE A. this is how he is ready for POs.

3. Shesty 12.2 x 5 is sweet spot. Gives him braggin rights, we can juggle into that w/Trouba + Lindgren exit = 12.5 and the 5.6 shesty gets now goes to raises, etc.

Key is PER BERN, NO FUGGIN NMC, that is what he has to concede to get his # from us. Reasonable -> extensive NTCs are sufficient.
