These bozos probably have the same take as the rest of the league. Did no one watch the Florida series last year? He was one of the chief reasons we lost.

Yeah this is exactly it. "He's a leader" and he throws big hits, he blocks shots, he has that one good offensive season that people still associate with his current abilities, etc. There's a big element of hockey culture that loves guys like Trouba (Lindgren, too) and don't even see that they can barely actually play the position.

The team is hilariously soft dude. They dont finish checks, they dont block shots, they dont get pucks deep. Afraid to give and take hits. Shy away from after the whistle stuff. Dont back up their teammates. The list goes on.

Did you hear the crowd last night? Not a peep. And its not because of corporate suits. Last night was Garden of Dreams night and the crowd wasnt given a single reason to stand and cheer. Say what you want about Rempe, and im not saying he should be in the lineup, but the crowd is engaged and the team is engaged when he is in the lineup. The same logic can be applied to the Trouba hits and fights that get the team going. You can't explain the emotional component away on a chart.
And with the way they unceremoniously dispatched of Goodrow and are presently trying to dump Trouba, you can’t explain away the leadership component either.

The leadership is such a crock of shit lol. He's just a mercenary who was made captain because Mika and Kreider couldn't handle the responsibility.

100% which is why I always laugh when people say he is not movable. Everyone severely underestimates how dumb NHL GMs can be

At the time I didnt think much of it, but Kreider basically declining the captaincy is an outrageous move and massive red flag.

Absolutely re: GMs. I 100% believe he would have been traded over the summer if he didn't do everything he could to torpedo that, and I 100% believe he will be moved this season if he "allows" it this time.

Get back to competition drills. Get back to winning those 50-50 board battles. Whoever the sports psychologist is on staff needs to carry their weight too.

I would hope Drury has the conversation with him that he's getting traded but they'll work with him to get a deal done. As long as he is on the team its dysfunctional.

It’s so funny because I legit think a lot of GMs do think like this - I also think a lot of GMs think they can catch lightning in a bottle for a playoff run or think a guy will flourish with a change of scenery.

I was joking. where do the preds with families live? belle meade?
Yeah - mostly in the gated communities out there. When I first moved here, my gf at the time and I went to an "estate sale" of one of the players who had been traded. I was shocked at how low quality the furniture for sale was. They were literally selling anything that wasn't nailed down - pucks, used skates. It was kinda weird.

I have no idea what this is. Probably some Rick and Morty monstrosity. Thanks for contributing to the conversation.

"It's not a bad point" LOL, you got me there, Bizzy. But I also don't think Broberg hits like Trouba does (when he's out there "murdering" people). We need more GMs in the league like Ryan Whitney who see murder but overlook bad defense and contracts.
