McLeod and Holland were our 2 worst forwards IMO. Would much rather have Nieves back up to see if he can hold down the 4C spot
AT LEAST top 10 1st + prospect or else zero reason to make moveIf Gorton has plans to move Miller I hope for 1st in the 2018 draft.
Depending on what kind of C Gorton wants, you could make a move for Tavares, or Chytil debuts as a 2C or a 2B to Hayes next season. In either eventuality, I don’t see why you’d move Miller for a C. I’m a Miller fan but I don’t think he gets you on his own a good enough 2C. At best, a prospect who can project into 2C and whose club is undervaluing/underestimating.Yes, it depends what Gorton need to strengthen - if he is looking for another center Miller is not the player and maybe the reason they will move him.
I like Holland and think he should be in the mix for the 4th along with Nieves next season, but zero reason to play McLeod over Nieves. Zero.McLeod and Holland were our 2 worst forwards IMO. Would much rather have Nieves back up to see if he can hold down the 4C spot
Hope at least that. If it is for a first it has to be for a sure top 10 pick. Trading him to a contender is gonna net us a 25-30 picks. Good enough for nash or grabs but not for jtIf Gorton has plans to move Miller I hope for 1st in the 2018 draft.

I don’t want Galchenyuk at all
The McD “injury” and Pionk/Gilmour call ups make me suspect we are working aggressively with one or more teams to move McD prior to TDL. Other possible explanations are a legit injury and a focused tanking campaign.
I think Montreal and Edmonton are two teams who are really unhappy that they're in the basement and would probably be willing to move their first round picks this year for players who can play now. Both GM's are on the hot seat and are primed to make some panic moves.
Galchenyuk is a risk, but he's the kind of risk you can take as a rebuilding team. Same with a guy like Max Domi. If the price is right, it's a move that could pay off big.

Klim Kostin is a good player, I think that range in last year was underrated in that sense. Some good players between 21 and 31. Kostin isn’t anything really really special, but he is very good. The type of pick you could live with if he was picked 15-20 too. Tolvanen is good. Chytil. Thomas is OK.
Is that the kind of trade they are looking to make? RNH makes $6MM and will be 25 in April. By the time the Rangers might be ready to compete he could be 28-29.Not sure if Chia will be around, but I could see a Hayes for RNH deal at the draft with pieces to balance it out.
East/West type of deal. The Oilers need a big center that can line up with the heavy weights out west.
RNH gets to come play games against smaller centers in the east.
Bob McKenzie podcast was two hours of trade discussion. He said the Rangers are doing a teardown. Bob went through the entire roster. McKenzie analyzed every team. If the Rangers are doing a teardown, are they really signing Kovalchuk to a 35 plus contract bringing Nash and/or Grabner back? Makes zero sense.
It makes sense to bring back Nash/Grabner if they take 1 year deals to sell off at next year's TDL ala Weight/tkachuk.
Also depends on how many players are dealt off the NHL roster between now and the start of next season. As well as the returns on those trades.
