Assuming Kreider comes back 100%. It's a serious illness he has.

Brendan Smith for Matt Martin?

We could add a bit, he would be great sticking up for our kids.

Is there any deal we could put together to get another bad contract back for smith?

Don't care if they lose. In fact, my 5 preferred Metro playoff teams would be Washington, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Carolina, Philadelphia. **** the Islanders and Devils.

Agree but Devils will make it imo.

Martin is a POS. Don't want him.

Am I crazy for hoping we move Hayes? I think he’s the odd man out with Mika, Chytil & Andersson. Especially if we’re landing a young center like Howden in a McDonagh deal. I’ve never loved Hayes, he’s had a decent season but he’s so inconsistent and a pretty lazy player. He seems like he has no pulse sometimes, I want both him and Miller gone
Nah, not really. He seems like a partier from a distance but he doesn’t seem to have enough drive to get much better. Maybe he’s traded next summer to keep bringing in new talent.

Got an idea for a thread going to post it here just in case there's already one or it could be a waste of time. Keep 5 skaters (Hank in my opinion is obviously staying) and trade waive release the rest who are your 5 skaters? Forward or defence? Who gets waived who gets traded etc. Prospects not currently in the line up excluded feel free to pick and choose which ones to do it takes to long to do them all lol

Keep:
Skjei
Kreider
Zbad
Butch
Ada/shatty

Waive:
Kamp
Holland
DD

Trade
Millsy
Nash
Grabber
Mac
Holden

There are some teams that will be willing to trade a lottery draft choice once they know where it lands. No one is going to make a deal with a pick that isn't protected in some way if they are in any danger of missing the playoffs. San Jose, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Anaheim, Calgary and Columbus are all potential Nash suitors who fall into this gray area. Once the lottery is set in May, teams know what they are moving and the value of picks will be fixed. That's when a deal for a premium pick might be struck. If Edmonton ends up picking 8th or 9th, that's one pick I could see moved. Of course, the Edmonton GM may be moved before the draft.

Something to remember...if the Rangers do move some of the names most often mentioned (even if they retain salary) it will add to their available cap space to relieve issues from other teams. That is an important asset at the deadline. I'm not too excited about Matt Martin but if the Rangers hooked up with Toronto on a McDonagh deal, taking Martin's contract might be one of the chips we throw in to get better assets. There will be teams anxious to dump contracts at the deadline.

There isn't a chance in hell we make a trade with another lottery team for their first before the draft order is set. 1 and a quarter seasons for McDonagh or Dahlin for 7 years. It's not a question.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mac and zuccarello are still here until the draft. I do think some teams like Tampa and maybe Boston, Minnesota, they may be inclined to go for it right now. It's only a matter of time before other teams come into their own. Before kucherov's next contract or stamkos declines.

I'm just prepared for to go into the lottery with just our pick.

I’d be totally fine taking on guys like Matt Martin, Paul Martin or Brooks Orpik
