No idea. Start time was 7:30 according to NHL.com. Maybe the league just wanted to stagger the start times so as not to conflict with Edmonton-Buffalo?

7:30 start as it is a national game on Amazon Prime in Canada.

Most national games in both countries are 7:30 starts (with exception of the Saturday Hockey Night games) unless they are part of double headers. For instance Thursday’s Devils game vs the Oilers is 7:30 because it is an ESPN+ exclusive.

Outside of national games and CBA mandates around back to backs, local teams sets the game time.
