What about instead of Using a Nash or a Grabner to add picks, you tell a team they can have them for considerably fewer assets but they have to take Staal or Smith? Obviously you lose out on the picks but the future looks brighter without either of their two contracts and bad play weighing down the team. Is there a precedent for this?
Or someone even more important. Lundqvist. Kidding.Announcing they’ve traded their captain
Press conference will be that Gorton is out and Slats is back. Also that we've traded for Jagr and have offered Eric Lindros a contract to come out of retirement.
Or that this year was so bad that Dolan is selling the team and we will no longer spend to the cap every single year. This is fun.
That is a good one.Hank is the new GM and is relocating the team to Brooklyn.
we need the future assets way more than we need to get rid of those guys....especially if we sell everyone off we'll have tons of cap space to let those contracts just run out. if you can get rid of them great but not at the expense of quality future assets
That is a good one.
In all seriousness I wonder if AV is being canned today and Ruff is taking over.
Smith on waivers
That is a good one.

They have to address the media after this awful stretch can’t just let that happen and not say anythingThat'd be my real guess. You usually don't have pressers to waive guys, and since when does this org do media events to talk about the direction of the team?
