Basically said he talked to ADA and he knows what he has to do to get back in the lineup... Some on here say that means ADA doesn't practice hard enough. To me it sounds like a bratty GF who wants you to apologize for something you didn't do
Yea lets reward the guy that gave the worst effort in our last loss... "building a culture" "you gotta earn it"
I feel like the 3rd team non-sense is over blown.... He played one AHL season for Tampa and was sold off to Arizona. Arizona is just funky and all over the place with its personal management.I dunno. Maybe he doesn't. I can't imagine two coaches treating a piece of a major deal like this unless something was wrong.
You have to remember, the successes and failures of ADA fall on JG and I have a hard time believing JG being okay with ADA continuously being scratched unless the feedback from the coaching staff was that bad. For the record, I like ADA. I want him to succeed. However, the reality is, he is on his third NHL team in 4 years, his third NHL team at 22 years of age, and despite putting up 2 points in 2 games, he is a healthy scratch for the 7th game in a row.
Zucc+McQuaid + for Nylander? I just don't see anything like this happening. I'd rather have Panarin for free though.
Also the Michael Nylander connection to NYR is worrying me. Maybe he's trying to get his son here.
Panarin @ 8/y >>>> Nylander @ 8/y

DeAngelo is in the "Do not break glass unless it's an emergency" category at this point. Maybe he always was?
When they made that trade, it was before Shattenkirk, and Pionk was very unknown. Rangers needed a RD who could maybe do something offensively.
Last season DeAngelo did not play until things happened. Shattenkirk hurt, Smith Demoted.
They even acquired McQuaid.
I don't think it's coincidence, I don't think they really care if DeAngelo develops, but instead of waiving him they'll just keep stringing him along unless an emergency comes up and they need to break the glass. If that emergency never takes place, are they going to qualify him next off-season? Is he going to sign it? I guess if they stop paying him it will just take care of itself.
The Rangers are trying to get Zuccarello going. Get that trade value up.
The GM was at the Ranger's game yesterday and the agent lives in NYC. Still, where there is smoke, there is fire..Is it odd they would be meeting in NYC and not Toronto? Its not like the Leafs are in town playing.
Or just scratch McQuaid, which seems like the easiest move to make. But obviously ADA is doing something the coaches disapprove of so it doesn't really matter.I'd play ADA over Shatty but we know that's not happening. Maybe Toronto would be foolishly interested in Shatty at half of the cost? We need to get him off the team IMO
I saw it mentioned that Nylanders agent is in NYC? I don't know how credible/true that is.Is it odd they would be meeting in NYC and not Toronto? Its not like the Leafs are in town playing.
Yeah and I forgot that the Toronto GM was at the Rangers game last night. He probably saw the crap that was on the ice and decided to make something work with Nylander instead of trading him.I saw it mentioned that Nylanders agent is in NYC? I don't know how credible/true that is.
His agency is based out of Englewood Cliffs, NJ, a quick trip over the GW bridge from Manhattan.I saw it mentioned that Nylanders agent is in NYC? I don't know how credible/true that is.
I think DeAngelo is in his current position precisely because they care about developing him, but I could be wrong. Maybe they no longer value him as a prospect. In either case though, I think you have to acknowledge that there are things that ADA is or isn't doing that has led him to this point. If they have given up on him, it's because he isn't playing up to their expectations, whether that's in practice, in games or both. Teams don't trade for a player and then just throw him on the scrap pile (excluding cap dumps, which ADA was not). It's in the team's best interest for him to succeed.
