I think Yak ends up in Belleville to learn the pro game next season & hopefully, he is NHL ready to replace Jensen when his contract ends after next season.

He will be in Belleville unless he blows the doors off in a short sample TC like he did last year. He clearly needs time there and I think this brass will want him there to get seasoned for the pro game and to continue to develop. Jensen is really good .. I would not expect Yak to replace Jensen so early in his career; thins is not Jake Sanderson coming in.

Do you think that Jensen gets re-signed then since they really have no one else who can move into that 2nd RD spot? Given Mantinpalo has been good defensively ,but brings no offence it's quite possible that Yak could be Kleven's partner next yr too. Although I do agree he could use some seasoning in Belleville & maybe it's just for half a yr.

Yes I think they will want to extend him.. signed is another thing depending on term , $ etc

1/2 year is a wish ... Call him up when he is ready and the Sens can slot him properly with the right partner for him to succeed

Really, at 34 yrs old you think they will extend Jensen with Yak sitting there? You may be right, but I think he starts with Kleven maybe halfway through the yr, two big guys who can move the puck & Yak can add some offence to the 3rd pair. And then moves up after Jensen is gone. Should be interesting to see how this plays out, but I'm optimistic with Yak, he doesn't have to be great, he just has to add a little more to this D & be good defensively
