He played a lot of LW in college and was more effective in terms of point production while there, than at center.

It was either his Sophomore or Junior year, he was slumping and Berenson moved him to LW and he played there for basically the whole year.

I think the Rangers got solid value for Stepan. For me, the wildcard was and is ADA.

I think Andersson will be a very good player with time, and his production will probably be similar to Stepan's.

But if ADA were to pan out, that pushes the outcome more toward the Rangers' favor.

Having said that, a trade like the Stepan trade is the risk when you move established NHL talent for picks and prospects.

Much like the concept of a rebuild, those types of trades always sound much better in concept than they do in reality.

There are two possible explanations for this trade...

The Rangers got the #7 pick and moved a very big contract. That is the return.

Anyone who follows me knows that I have been first guessing this move since before the ink was drying on this deal. Hopefully another GM somewhere will give us something of value for ADA.

ADA wont play unless theres an injury.

until then, he rolls this defense out there as is.

if the team gets lit up, hell shake it up but if they play hard, give a solid effort and hank stands on his head and we lose by less than 3 goals, i think Quinn is happy keeping it close. the tank is real.

staal wont come out. hes a lefty. ADA is a righty and hes the 4th on e of those. he continues to sit and needs to stay sharp.

meanwhile pionk is very average but mostly huge gaff free. then theres marc staal.

Basically said he talked to ADA and he knows what he has to do to get back in the lineup... Some on here say that means ADA doesn't practice hard enough. To me it sounds like a bratty GF who wants you to apologize for something you didn't do
