The constructive input stays the same - your “argument” is entirely devoid of facts and is based on pure conjecture no matter how verbose you are about it. It’s not knowable.
Your statement is a canard.
While there is a subjective opinion as to Rempe, there is underlying OBJECTIVE FACTUAL basis to declare, knowledgably, that reality supports that opinion.
Specifically,
1) visual breakdown provided by Messier in support of his presentation
and
2) FACT Rempe played like just over 20 games and Rs won all but 2 or 3 of them,

Those ARE FACTS.
It is YOU, attempting to misrepresent that in a woeful attempt to discredit me.

Bend buckle and break in capitulation to the reality you are wrong here, you've lost this one.

Where are they going to play him if one of the LWs aren’t moved?

Plus we’d gave to push salary out somewhere.

Play someone on the right side. if the 21 year old can handle the switch, a veteran can. For example, nothing in Kreider's game is going to change playing on the left or the right.

Maybe. Maybe feels like a Rick Nash re-run. Very different players, of course… but the vet-on-verge-of-aging-curve thing…
Rick Nash was excellent for us and we haven't really had skill players who play the right way since that team.

His totals were underwhelming in the playoffs, but I would take that over Zibanejad's empty calories PPG. Nash never lost a puck battle in his life.

This team needs to stop binning skill and grit. That's been a culture ever since Gorton took over. Our skill players don't have the right elements to their game and our grit players are useless at offense.

Yeah, I think Kreider in particular should be flexible.

He's gonna go either straight to the front or straight to the boards. I don't think it matters which side he starts from.

The Rangers not even having a defenseman capable of QBing the 2nd PP is a travesty. Fox for the full 2 minutes or an outside hire are the only reasonable solutions.

Id def take him, but I think Jones, Kakko, and a 1st is an overpay. He’s a rental.

I think you take that deal and run. An RFA who has underwhelmed, the 30th overall pick and an undersized offensive defenseman is like HFBoards meme trade package. "Who will give us a difference making player for our crap?"

Gus is a PP specialist
He showed he stinks on D when pressured by Florida
Also Jones would do just fine replacing him

People look at Kakko as a guy who will go somewhere else and find it.

1) I would be shocked. I just don't think he has the offensive instincts at this level. You can't teach it and it's very hard to work on.

2) I don't care. If it helps us now, I don't care if he goes and wins the Hart Trophy.

The Yankees could have gotten Gerrit Cole in 2017 and won a World Series. Instead they hugged prospects that turned out to be nothing.

Gus was good on the PP for about 5 games when Fox first was injured. It bought him a season of goodwill until we all realized he was a 6/7 on his best day. Jones was on the NHL roster all season and never got a real shot. He first played NHL gemes during the 20-21 season. The Rangers have shown their opinion of him and its not very high imo.

I don't think this is true. They've tried it with Kreider before and he's always sucked when they've done it. He can't handle the puck on his weak side and I get that you don't really want him touching the puck that much until you get into the OZ, but you're taking a player who already isn't that great at getting the puck up ice and making them worse at it and his line mates in this situation wouldn't be that good at it either (at least Imagine that JG's not very proficient here as Crosby and Aho have been those guys for their line.)

I think JG is an awesome match for Trocheck and Laf but a terrible one for the other duo. If they're dead set on keeping the BFF's together, pray that Crosby asks out of Pittsburgh and that the Pens are actually willing to send him here.

If we are waiting for the perfect player for our needs we might be waiting awhile. Drury was interested in Guentzel at the deadline, so clearly there were contingencies for that left wing logjam in mind

Obviously, I'm interested in Guentzel, but I see him getting an eight-digit contract.

I like the Stamkos idea. Have two actual units and stop punting 30-40 seconds of the powerplay. Put Fox on both.
No reason to have Fox on both. Jones is a power play wizard and should get those reps.

Holy shit I finally caught up on this thread. Been busy and MIA. What a shitshow ending to the year. Florida is also a sledgehammer. Pretty dirty too even for playoff puck but hey they were getting away with it, I'd keep doing it too. That Draisatl hit last night was someone finally doing something about it haha.

I don't see how they don't make a couple of basic moves.

1. Move Trouba to the third pair / Move Trouba out.
-Yes he was garbage, injury thing is on team as much as him. If they can find a suitor and free up even more money I think Drury will. And honestly I'm fine with giving that spot to Jones, which would coincide with my next point...
2. Move Lindgren to the third pair
-I'm eager to see what Drury does here. I feel like I was one of the first a long time ago on having to be open about moving on from him. If he's willing to stick around though on a reasonable deal, I'd overpay for some veteran presence on the third pairing, esp with all the other intangibles built in. He can't take money and eat up that spot anchoring Fox down any longer though.

That would lead to a couple of other possibilities. I'm fine with chasing some reasonable production from FA for the third pair if we have to move on from and Lindgren or Trouba though. Jones deserves a spot. We could save a ton of Cap infusing some rightfully-earned youth into the lineup.

I'd look into moving Goodrow. No better time, 100% there is a market for him. Would we even have to retain, honestly? Take a 3rd or 4th to help some team get to the Cap floor.

We're probably getting a lot of the team back, I just hope they let more of Edtsrom into the lineup, start with a Bedard, and opt to bring kids up to test out filling spots, then chase at the deadline. If they preserve GP+BO+'24 1st till then and the pipeline is plentiful, I'd take one more big swing for this core at next years deadline. You're essentially stuck in that scenario anyways, and kind of one more year after that.

Going to be Drury's most interesting offseason yet.

You guys are psychos (endearingly) btw, I scrolled every other page in the thread for a while.

As a rental. I don't really know if he had any interest in keeping him beyond that (we'll find out in a few weeks.)

I thought Guentzal can play RW, or am I mistaken?

I don't know if he can or can't but he was both Crosby and Aho's LW.

Fact 2 doesn't demonstrate cause and effect as much as it demonstrates randomness. Who else played in all of those 20 games?

A real fact is that when Trouba was hurt, the Rangers played their best hockey of the season.
