Feelin' good on a Wednesday
Panarin has been on the ice for 61 gf and 49 ga at even strength and is mvp worthy. Zibinny has been on for 49 gf and 33 ga and is awful. Years from now people will have revisionist history but you must never forget.
Not sure if aimed at me but Z has been awful compared to himself.

In past years the numbers you posted wouldn't even be as close as they are now.

I mean, shit the last few games he should have 5 assists, for the opposing team.

He's been that bad.

Mika is sitting at 35GF and 28GA at 5v5. No one is complaining about his GA. He's being paid to put the puck in the net. No where close to where he needs to be in GF.

Michael McLeod of the Devils is sitting at 35GF and 22GA at 5v5 to put it in perspective

Watching the trade deadline candidates game, Ducks vs Sharks.

I really do wonder on Vatrano. His minutes will drop, no PP1 time. It wasn't a perfect fit with a better Mika.

Feel like Henrique is further up their list. He got a deflection on the PP playing the bumper. Brodz hasn't looked the same without Kakko.

Seattle winning hurts the Gourde potential, but I think that's a pipedream.

So I missed the drama on why Buchnevich is being traded with term in the first place apparently.

But as much as I’d hate it, he is the quality of player you could see Othmann moved for. Which is absurd given what we previously gave up for him of course

So they trade Buchnevich for nothing and then trade a top prospect for Buchnevich. Drury would be fired he did something so dumb

Who said anything about a top prospect?

His value is now higher since he is on the Blues. They would ask for Perreault or Othmann and that is a no from me. I was a huge Buchnevich fan too. As much as I like Vatrano speaking of players they might bring back, I would not want to give up more just to bring him back.

Since you missed the point the first time....Othmann is a JAG.

I swear, every time I log on & see a ton of posts in this thread I get really worried that Drury made a phenomenally stupid trade for like Joel Edmundson or some similarly useless player.

You know it because it's about to happen... lol

I’m glad for Kane that he has rebounded, however “elite clip”? He’s about PPG, we consider that “elite” now? There are about 35 players at about PPG. Hell Trocheck is almost PPG. Vinnie is an excellent all around player, but not close to elite.
Kane is at 3 points/60 at 5v5 through 29 games. That’s right around where the league leaders end up every year

Seattle won but Nashville and LA won.

Seems to be turning into a bit of a buyers market.
All of these players stink.

There is not one player discussed on this pod worthy of a first round pick.

Emily thinks Laughton is worth a #1 pick. She is lost. None of these teams have paid that price. Mr. Flyer Frank Seravalli has said teams like Laughton but not at the #1 pick price. The guy is 3rd/4th line center. He is signed for a two more seasons at $3M. Is that good or bad? Having that $3M on the books for two more seasons.

She was surprised when people started mentioning Henrique as a top rental. 34 or 35 year old Adam Henrique? She asked one of her friends who works in an NHL front office why that is the case. He said Henrique is a smart player. Some of these people working for teams aren't very bright. They make mistakes on players in the draft. In free agency. What makes them so smart? Some of these teams suck every year. They never get better. They mention Henrique because the Ducks suck and Henrique is a free agent.

Buchnevich isn't happening. The Rangers don't like him and Buchnevich isn't happy with them. No surprise.

I wouldn't pat yourself on the back. They are first in the league in points. You can't do that without skill.

I was replying to someone who literally just said their biggest concern is not being able to score enough. He’s right.

Where they are in the regular season standings is irrelevant to that determination. Also I never said they had no skill.

NYR are 8th in goals for. We can stop saying they don't score enough goals. Can we WANT more goals? Sure, why not? That would be great, but lets stop talking like this team cant score, they are like 0.35 GPG off of the lead...

Take it up with the guy who said it.

If theres a year to go for it though, its this year. The league is totally wide open and no dominant team. Best team is probably florida? Theyre hard nosed, big and physical. So the way you beat them is by getting bigger and more physical. Which maybe thats why were giving rempe and edstrom the trial run?
People keep saying that and will probably say it again next year if we're in a good spot, and the year after as well. It's always time to go for it in some people's minds. This is the mentality that shortens competitive windows and results in no cups. It's the same mentality we've had forever.

I'm not saying we shouldn't add anyone, but we need to be smart about it rather than just spending big on the biggest names.

Some of these teams need first round picks to make trades. TB. Florida. Boston. Those teams are mentioned with Hanifin. Some of these teams need to free up money to make a trade. EDM.

The Rangers could trade their first round pick to a team which needs a #1 pick for acquire another player or a team which needs to clear money & that team could trade that pick for their rental.

The Rangers trade their #1 pick to Florida for Lundell and Bill Zito can make the move for Hanifin.

The Rangers trade their #1 pick for Edmonton for Ryan McLeod. Edmonton throws in Dylan Holloway. I like him very much. He needs a change of scenery. Broberg?

Edmonton wants Guentzel. They need to make other moves to make that happen. $6M cap hit. The Rangers are the third team. Pittsburgh wants two first round picks for Guentzel. Edmonton could deal their pick and the Rangers pick. The Rangers get McLeod. The perfect third line center. $2.1M for next season. 25 years old. Is there a way to pawn off Goodrow on Pittsburgh? The Penguins need to be competitive and retool. I like Reilly Smith at 50%. Make it one big deal. The Rangers get McLeod,Smith and Holloway. Dump Goodrow's contract on Pittsburgh. He probably doesn't have Pittsburgh on his NTC list. #1 pick in 2024. Maybe the 2nd pick in 2024 too.

SJ would probably move Mario Ferraro for a first round pick.

I agree as I feel like we have some pretty damn solid organizational depth at forward. And our D-core on the nhl roster are pretty young (fox, lindy, kandre, schneider). Id be more looking to move picks than prospects.

For example, lets say our 2024 1st could land wennberg and eberle, you do that, right?

Both Laughton and Henrique are fill in a hole guys....unless there are injuries they're not going to sniff the top 6. I don't see a good reason for dumping a 1st rounder on either.....even a late one. We gave up only 2nd's for Kane last year but that turned into overkill. Tarasenko was doing better until that happened.....afterwards Gallant couldn't make up his mind how to deploy those two along with the other top 6. There was one guy too many and Kane was playing hurt to boot.

When you go out in the first round after taking those kinds of steps....trying to turn your team into an All-Star team. I'd rather not go down that same path again. Personally I'd rather even hold on to 2nd's. I think we need to address organizational depth regarding defensemen particularly.

Not against the Rangers doing some dumpster diving for a depth defenseman with size and strength. Maybe a 3rd/4th line type but that's about it. It might mean staying quiet most of deadline day and waiting out the sellers to get a deal that adds depth without breaking the bank.

I wonder if Verbeek was looking at Edstrom. The team has too many wingers and Edstrom isn’t super young. I’m not saying I’d like to trade him but if the choice was Berard or Edstrom I might lean towards Edstrom.
NO on moving Ed

Its Kakko. I doubt Edstrom has any value right now.
NO. x 2
