If a prospect puts in a great performance, but also has the largest amount of room to grow (as a player AND as a pro)... that’s how you get a situation where he earns an award and still gets sent down.

Jesper Fast won it in 2013 and started the season in the AHL. Duclair won it in 2014 and was sent back to Juniors a few weeks later.

Hagelin too... although his call up is really what solidified the 11-12 team into the best in the conference.

I’m more interested in trying to figure out rational reasons for why coaches and FO staff do things than judging them for doing things I agree or disagree with. Particularly when it seems like they’re at odds with stated goals of the organization. I mean, it’s not like Gorton isn’t aware that McQuaid is 31 years old and would compete with DeAngelo or Pionk. It’s not like Quinn isn’t aware that Andersson has performed well. So the reasons have to be in less obvious pieces of logic.

No, ADA was never brought up in particular.

I enjoyed it. I thought it was informative and fun. But, I agree with Irishguy... sound person can be relieved of their duties.
