I can spot Kreids, Zib, Buch, Shatty, Pionk, Nieves, Geo. Did I miss anyone?
We know Smith is working out with Prentiss as well, per Buch's IG

Don't Hayes and Vesey go to Prentiss? I thought they did last year and would again this summer.

What are Lias, Chytil, Howden, etc. doing?

Dom Luszczyszyn of The Athletic is previewing by reverse order

31-Van
30-Ottawa
29-Detroit
28-Rangers
27-Montreal
26-Islanders

He picked the Devils at #25.

Larry Brooks will be miserable having to write about three bad hockey teams. Poor Brooksie.

Marc Staal. Replacement level.

Yeah, that defense hurts my eyes. There’s a lot in there that confirms much of my feelings and beliefs about this team. Based on that chart, Kevin Hayes shouldn’t be getting the numbers he’s asking for, and moving him is the right move, Jesper Fast is the 4th liner I’ve believed he is. Zucc is a 2nd liner. Kreider and Zibanejad are the Rangers’ best players. And the forward depth is not what some here believe it is. Not to mention that Henke is not going to lift this team to playoff contention.

For once, the performance of the Rangers equals the performance of Books' writing

Yeah, I've felt that way for a while. Every game feels the same whether you're playing the Devils or the Coyotes. While it's tough to debate the merits of things like fighting and violence disappearing due to concussion concerns, the games just feel devoid of passion. Even beyond fighting which I could do without minus the in the heat of the battle scrap; there's no after the whistle stuff, seemingly no hitting, etc. It's just very bland and vanilla as you put it. I don't need WWE or UFC on skates but a lot of the time I feel like I'm watching the same game over and over. It would always make me laugh when I see NBCSN push "rivalry night" when the two teams on that night are playing each other like they're out of conference opponents.
They usually are on Rivalry Night.

I'm starting to think Detroit finishes dead last. Sens are bad but at least they'll have EK for half a season.

I don't agree with a lot of his chart. Namestnikov making a bigger impact than Hayes? No impact from Chytil and Andersson. He probably also has Zuccarello a little low.
He admits that it’s incredibly difficult to predict rookie performance, whether it be based on AHL performance or limited NHL experience. I wouldn’t read too much into those numbers.

Regarding Names, a lot of his data is primarily driven from being with Tampa and succeeding in his usage and his sample size with the Rangers isn’t enough to negate that. I still expect people to drastically change their opinion on him this season, and Namestnikov himself admitted he was negatively impacted by that trade. 20 games on a ship being bombarded with nukes isn’t really the best sample to draw opinions from.

I really dislike Dom’s defensive predictions and think his pairings are very off from what they will eventually be.

Where did he say that ?

Yeah they may run an even weaker group of D out there than we do and Their goaltending is horrendous unless Howard is playing at the garden.

I could totally see.

Hollweg light years better than McLeod, but the others are marked improvements of actual roster spots. Fleury? Barnaby? Avery? Kasparaitis? Awesome.

Kaspar would get exposed with the pace of today's game. Always been a fan of Barnaby, but other than physicality what is he bringing to the table?

This isn't 2006. The game has evolved and is rewarding skill more than ever. Give me 4 lines that can play in all three zones and produce offensively. I'd welcome a couple of bangers if they weren't incompetent on the ice, which is exactly what Hollweg was.

You're probably right about Kaspar but he did play heavy. If he lost a bunch of weight and came in lean like the kids do today, he would might be ok.

Not much separation.

The Rangers need all of the help they can get trying to figure out the D pairings. That's why they have three former D on the coaching staff. Good luck to them. If Ryan McDonagh was still on the team,Trucker would be the top D on the team. That's not saying much.

People say the Rangers aren't tanking and they want to be a "competitive" team. They didn't do anything to improve the team. Gorton is sitting on $5M-$6M waiting to pick up a contract for an asset. They also say they are "rebuilding". It's hard to be both. For the 2nd straight season, they are going into the season with a question mark as the back-up goaltender. Pavelec was terrible last season. No surprise there. Georgiev had his moments last season. Good and bad. Tokarski is the back up to the back up. Tokarski could be the back-up if he has a better camp. He is a career AHL goalie. If they were serious about being "competitive",management would have brought in a more capable back up goalie and tried to improve that D group. I know they are also "rebuilding" and want to give the young guys an opportunity.

They don't want to 'tank on purpose" but the roster has serious deficiencies. The 1st pick on the draft is a guarantee for the worst team in the NHL anymore. Finish 4th-8th and hope to move up in the lottery.

Hockey is supposed to be fun and entertaining and have many possible things that can happen, but lately it has become boring, bland, and predictable. Really miss some colorful characters like Fleury, Barnaby, Kasparaitis, Avery, Hollweg, etc.

Those were good days of hockey, Miss those days to.

So wait what's Mika's purpose there? Does he provide the in house entertainment?

All that guy is interested in is being a DJ and drinking in the off season.

Is this really a serious post after scoring 13 5v5 points all of last season?

Oh wait..We could've had a 3rd liner do that
