I mean...unless they're going to trade Holden or Kampfer for F depth, we have to claim a guy or two off waivers, no? We can't really be going with Desjardins and Carey and we have no idea how Chytil will do in real game action.

Gorton probably gonna play the waiver wire and make a small trade.

Either that or he's fine with Deshardins as the 13F while Fast is out and then Carey being pushed down to 13F and Deshardins to 14F when Fast comes back.

Carey, Kampfer, and Puempel could be lost.

All three can go for all I care

Agreed, none of them would be missed, but maybe they're trying to assure as many bodies make it through waivers to Hartford as possible. All three would make the Pack better.

Thought Desharnais won the spot over Andersson in the last game, so I'm not terribly concerned about sending him back to Sweden to play a bigger role, despite wanting to see him get the nine game tryout. And while I'm on record liking Pionk over DeAngelo, the latter has impressed as well, and I guess they like his dynamism over Pionk's more steady version of the same, so no major issues there.

But, while I understand not wanting to lose assets for free, I think the team is much better served with Lettieri as the 4th line wing, as opposed to Carey. Also, no idea why Kampfer is still on the squad or why Desjardins wasn't released from his PTO.

Still, no major problems with the cuts – until we see who's playing on that third pair...

I'm glad Andersson is going back to Sweden, he had a good camp, and there's lots to build on. Chytil definitely deserves the 9 game look over him. I don't really disagree with any of the cuts thus far. You could argue for Vinny L over Carey, or Pionk over Kampfer, but again waivers. Also it was probably Pionk vs DeAngelo rather than Kampfer or Graves. Still plenty of time for things to play out, no need to panic until opening night.

I find that idea that the team thinks it would be a big deal to potentially lose Kampfer laughable

Every team in the league has someone like him, why would anyone want him?

Unless they are trying to find a way to pump his value up so a team takes a flier on him? Reverse Psychology I guess lol

I doubt anyone will claim them - maybe Vegas first year for them so it make some sense to build some depth. I was wrong about Lias A. I thought he would get 9 games, but since he struggled with that minor leg injury after he blocked that shot - they did not like to rush or risk further injuries and sent him home to Sweden to mature for next year training camp. He will get a more minutes in Sweden for sure - so it`s probably the best for Lias development.

If there's so many "kampfer lookalikes" on the waiver wire, then losing Kampfer would just mean the Rangers can claim another guy off waivers to replace him. Shouldn't be that hard

Kampfer, I assume is for practice, for now maybe longer.

Desjardins, they still have to get to 23 I think he likely gets released, maybe doing him a favor by waiting on waiver guys to go through first, if those team miss someone they put a claim in for perhaps they look into him?

I could understand keeping Carey as a demonstration that it doesn't matter who you are, if you play well you'll get rewarded kind of thing. The only problem is that I thought Lettieri outplayed him – and is a better fit for the role that needs to be filled.

And in that case, do we need to even mention Staal? He's has been outplayed by Steven Freaking Kampfer and yet nothing will happen and AV will do his same shenanigans as last year...

So far the guys that played well (Chytll, ADA, and DD) have stayed so its hard to complain about these moves. I may be in the minority but I do not mind Holden as a 6th/7th dman. I think Holden has played better than Staal. I think ADA should be our 3rd pairing right dman. I'd prefer Holden stay on the left side.

It's a long season. Carey may be gone by December. He may be gone by next week. Getting time in the AHL will be good for Lettieri. Yes, he played well, but this is his first year as a pro and he is waiver exempt. No need to rush him.

I am now officially worried about Desjardins.

The dude was trash last year, and trash in the preseason.

Id rather have Boo making rookie mistakes with the possibility of learning from them than an old dog who can't learn new tricks.

I would not mind losing Kampfer. There is no reason he should be here. You could move Holden and lose Kampfer and still have:

Pionk RHD
Graves LHD

To call up.

Who else was waived?
