I'd take a waiver on Gudlevskis if Allaire was interested. He was pretty amazing with Team Latvia 2013-2014. He's already in NYC, if he outplayed Pavelec in camp I'm sure he could be moved.

Hope Bereglazov sticks around, but his play with the puck was not good last night to say the least. If he is going to make it to the NHL that has to be corrected.

I would have liked to see him get another game simply so that I could determine whether it was nerves or if he just handles the puck like a live grenade. I, unfortunately lean toward the latter, because even as the game went on and he seemed to make some solid defensive plays and gain his barrings he was still just smacking at the puck like a fly he wanted to swat away.

Cap space now = $1,225,556
Trade Holden for a 3rd round pick
Kampfer promoted to the big club - Savings $1.000.000
Waive Puempel - $725.000
Cap space = $2.950.556 + Fast on LTIR
Sign Jagr at $2.950.000 + deferrable bonuses
When Fast returns - Chytil goes back to Europe or to NA juniors - 925.000
Cap space = 925.000 which is enough to operate the team

Kreider - Zib - Zucc
Jagr - Hayes - Nash
Vesey - Miller - Buch
Grabner - LA - DD (Fast)

McD - Shatty
Skjei - Smith
Staal - ADA
Kampfer

Hank
Pavs

I did not see the game but from what I saw of Bereglazov in KHL, he was solid with the puck. I think he needs to adjust to NA game, rinks.

Well, he'll be given the chance to do that in the AHL. It's up to him as to whether or not he wants to put in the work though.

Always liked him, really good goalie at the minor league level. I don't really know the mechanics of goaltending other than spotting bad rebounds, but this guy has the tools... maybe not at the NHL level yet though.

I'm loving what Lias and Fil are bringing to the table. But if I may caution...

take a look at the once heralded Mikhail Grigorenko, or even Jared McCann and Virtanen...

all of those guys were brought in early at 19... and now they don't look like they can hack it in the league with Grigorenko now out (he'll be a star in the KHL for the next decade).

These are the risks of not letting a teenager grow and dominate the lower levels before expecting them to make a jump that's 2-3 levels of intensity and physicality beyond what they are used to.

The Rangers lack depth, they weren't able to backfill the last few years due to trades, and are in prime position to make the same mistakes Vancouver did with their 2014 1sts.

I'm not opposed to either of the 1sts getting a taste and look see, but it's a long season... and short term thinking can hurt long term progress.

All 3 of the players you mentioned played against teenagers in major junior before being drafted.

Lias and Filip both played against men in men's pro leagues, so it is a little different.

Agreed, but the point still stands... it's a long season. Very few teenagers make it and play well. There are too many examples of good players ruined. I only say this to temper expectations.

Also, I'm a little disappointed with Gropper... was hoping he'd make a bigger impact.

The Rangers really liked Vince Dunn in 2015, and Gropp, they were hoping to land both, but missed on Dunn by 6 picks (Kovacs). Dunn looks like a stud in the making.

Wondering too whats going on there.
They look good for sure, but Lias had a long season in sweden and not much rest in the offseason. 82 games plus playoffs on top of that?
Some have them on the 4th line, how could that be good for their development?

I like the idea of giving them some games, but if they are gone after 9 games, who fills those spots?
Waiver time will be gone.

I think it’s less about whether he wants to put in the work than where he’s willing to put in the work.

I’m surprised that he got cut this early in camp. The adjustment must be taking longer than they expected. If he sticks around, I expect that we will see him at some point this season.

I'd rather pick up a Forward or two on waivers before the season begins than have Farnham or Desjardins. I think the jury is still out on Boo and Puempel but we could upgrade on both. I'm still unsure if I want to give such an early opportunity to Lias and Chytil.

Trade Holden.

I`m all in for Holden trade - he seems lost out there this year.
Staal is Staal I doubt we can do anything before next summer.

They'll need to make a trade... and go dumpster diving on waivers.

I think the issue is more the frequency, intensity, and time off between practices and games.

You also have the other aspect of money, where you are talking about these guys earning what used to be their monthly in a single day or even less.

There are a lot of life related issues you need to consider. If the Rangers have the mentorship, and insulation in place for these guys, and they can play.... then let them play.

I think both make a push for the 9 game mark. On merit, they deserve it.

I think the race for sixth D is between Holden, ADA and Pionk. I don't think they want to pressbox Pionk or ADA. If either can beat out Holden, they'll move him. Otherwise, I think both Pionk and ADA start in Hartford. The only alternative I see is playing Smith as LD on third pair and sitting Staal.

Keep Holden until trade deadline. Injuries on D will happen and he'll be a good player to have.

Yeah, we shouldn't rush him out unless somebody offers us a reason to.

And offers will be bigger at the deadline when everyone is dreaming.
