Agreed. If I’m giving up a first we might as well go for someone younger who we could resign or has termNot where I’d be looking

He’s definitely an NHL player, just not a very good one. I’d say he’s a fringe playerHe is what he is. He finally scored so I stopped criticizing but lately I see more and more fans acknowledging that he’s not an NHL player. You say you think he has the talent. He’s 30 not 23. He’s much closer to the end of his career. He doesn’t have the talent.
On to the next shiny toy.
He’s been passing through waivers for years. Not many think he is.He’s definitely an NHL player, just not a very good one. I’d say he’s a fringe player
Honestly I am hoping Drury has the stugots to trade Lindgren.Agreed. If I’m giving up a first we might as well go for someone younger who we could resign or has term

Kind of thinking if you could do something around Lindgren and Kakko for Hanifin. Works cap wise. Calgary gets to pretend they stay competitive; they get two RFAs in for a UFA; so they get some player control out of it. Rangers may or may not need to add but Lindgren to Hanifin is probably a big upgrade. If Hanifin doesn’t work out, (or even if he does) you let him walk and there’s your money to keep Gus. That raises the ceiling on the team. If you can keep a first out of the deal that’s how you can get another forward in too.
What about something around Quick for McLeod from Edmonton? He’s a 4th liner there but his underlying stats are good. Still young. Edmonton gets a 1B very inexpensive goalie for this season. Quick gets to be a starter again. It would force the Rangers to have Domingue as the backup going forward but McLeod would be a really nice 3C this year as a fill in and he could be around for a while
Quick would retire before playing a single game in Edmonton. Quick and the entire team would despise Drury and Dolan. Team would crumble. Gourde @ 50% retained. Start there.
Then see what other moved you can make. If Chytil is LTIR at least the rest of the year you could fit Gourde at 50% retained and another middle 6 winger. If that 2nd piece has retention you may be able to fit a 6/7 D.
I do not see them dealing Lindgren in season. Offseason yes, but not in the midst of one of their best seasons in franchise history. They wont upset the apple cart like that.
Call me crazy but Lindgren getting joaned by a particular sect of the fans right now is actually joan shrapnel from what should be directed at the way Fox is playing. Nobody was really getting on Lindy when he was paired with Gus. And this isn't me saying I'm mad at Fox or anything. And I'm DEFINITELY NOT saying that we should split up Fox and Lindy. I'm a well adjusted human being who happens to be a former high major DOBO. I understand the ebbs and flows of performance. Shesty just went through a stretch. Hank went through stretches, Mariano Rivera went through stretches. Foxy will be old reliable Foxy soon enough. Lindy/Foxy will be the old reliable pairing that we have seen for basically 4 seasons plus. Then we won't have to trade for a rental dman or resign that rental dman to a 7 mil contract and have multiple 7 mil+ dmen who won't qb our PP. Call me crazy.
everyone stop giving away KakkoHonestly I am hoping Drury has the stugots to trade Lindgren.

You are crazy. Everyone loves Lindgren but you simply cannot give him another contract. another cap thing. Have to dive to get, don’t want to give another contract with wing depth on farm. May as well use the asset. Won’t miss him if he is in Calgary. Try to keep 1steveryone stop giving away Kakko
Seriously? If I remember correctly, we got more for Cam Talbot who was never as good as Quick. What about something around Quick for McLeod from Edmonton? We gave girardi that fat contract at 30.You are crazy. Everyone loves Lindgren but you simply cannot give him another contract. We saw this with Girardi

Lindgren is 26. We’re not making him a top paid defenseman.
You don't name a player captain of your AHL club if you believe he has a long term NHL role.Players aren’t established until they are. Blackwell was a 27 year old with 10 points in 33 NHL games over two seasons before we signed him. Ppl here hated on him too, but he left here a commodity.
Brodinski shoots, skates, hits. He does what you want everyone to do. He’s put up some points too, recently.
I don’t get why so many on here are rooting for him to fail, but it doesn’t really matter. Mgmt obviously values him.
Chychrun has been injured for what seems like a decade now. Trading significant assets for him while expecting he suddenly becomes reliable seems like a hell of a gamble…I know Chychrun has been injured. It's a riskier move but has massive grand slam potential.
KAM Fox
Chychrun Trouba
Gus Schneider
I'd be in on Pinto already. I don't know what'd he cost though.
This is ridiculous.I wish we weren't such a boomer organization.
No guarantee that Othmann is the answer yet but why not try him in the top 6? Wheeler can center the 3rd line and Bonino can go down to the 4th where he belongs. But this org doesn't trust young players and is in love with Bonino, Wheeler, Goodrow, and Trouba types.
