Actually what you are doing is literally the definition of confirmation bias. Thats a person ignoring information that is inconsistent with their beliefs. These beliefs can include a person’s expectations in a given situation and their predictions about a particular outcome. You are literally predicting a large group of people on the main boards are already going against what you deem to be correct based on your pre-established beliefs. Asking others their opinions is not confirmation bias because they could go against your opinion. Now if you ignore overwhelming information and stick to your own beliefs that is confirmation bias. For instance if 98% of people disagree with you, you are probably wrong. Ignoring them by saying they are biased is confirmation bias.
Listen, if you want to head to opinions from the main board - it's your prerogative, noone can stop you. If you want to ask what most "locals" think about main board - "shit show" will probably be the most kind response. So going back to where this back-and-forth started: referring to the main board's opinion will get you no points in discussion, quite the opposite.

See if Peg bites on something around Kakko+ for Morrissey?

Trade Lindgren for futures, prospect if Peg isn't interested.

Morrissey is $6.25m
Kakko+Lindy is $5.1m

#1LD solved who was successful with Trouba already.

RW is now open but we can look at Othmann or UFA. Regardless, You build from the net out and LD is a priority. RW is less of a headache.

Lindgren isnt getting a 1 year deal. He's a top 4 player in the NHL partnered with a norris trophy winner. If he takes a 1 year deal, he's walking at the end of it.
Kakko, yeah coming off injury 2.4m sounds about right, unless the rangers were willing to do a mid length deal, of like 4 years for 3m-ish. Less than Chytil, but lets him know he's a long term fixture, and if he produces he'll get a nice raise.
Schneider is the hard one. He's clearly blocked from more time, but he's loved by 2 straight coaches, and while he has some warts, he's still not really grown into his full strength yet, and thats been the biggest issue in his game. But being blocked out of the top 4 is not exactly something he's gonna love for the next 4 years.
Schneider is only blocked from the top 4 if there's no injuries. He'll still get opportunities.

Why is Winnipeg trading Morrissey though?

For the Rangers point
Morrissey is a great fit for the Trouba factor you mentioned.
Winnipeg has 1.6 million in cap space.
Morrissey has 5 years left (counting this one).
Winnipeg is a legitimate contender right now.
Not sure what the Jet’s G.M. thoughts on how he wants to handle this season.

Probably need 2 guys hurt for Schneider to get that shot. Because when a RD went down, they played Gus on his off side and stuck Schneider with Jones

no on dealing KK

I enjoy this narrative that Laviolette was the Rangers "last option". He was Rangers twitters* last option certainly because everyone there was obsessed with hiring a mystery box HC (whatever happened to Jay Leach anyway?) but the guy literally checked every box for what we know the NYR organization wanted.

"Retread" is a dirty word but theres a reason they keep getting hired and its mainly because rookie HCs rarely work out and most are just bad. Theres not 30 good NHL HCs in the world. That probably applies to all 4 major sports once you look around to see who is running the best teams

Kakko was looking like a 1rw, who puts up excellent 5v5 possession numbers and strong overall defense. 50 points was the expectation. Finding that player (which then allows everyone else to slot down) at 2m is alot harder to find than a 1ld.
When exactly was this? Certainly not this year. Last year he looked serviceable on the Kid Line, but at no time has he ever shown the ability to play that way when he was on the 1st line.

The longer Kakko is out of the lineup, the better he becomes. Another month on the shelf and he'll be Rantanen-lite when he gets back.

I agree. Sometimes fans and media mistake their beliefs and opinions for facts. We have no idea who was on the list nor where.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time since the concussion that the Rangers have sent Chytil to that specialist in Michigan. Good news is he is able to fly/travel. Honestly with the little we know it's not sounding good.

On the Lindgren trade value this summer, thinking a 1st or a 2nd and a decent B level prospect.

No Alpha Dog? Trouba Alpha Dog?
Steve Valliquette at the 27 minute mark:
I just made a post about this 5 min after you on the Around the league -thread haha. More specifically about what a treasure Vally is, that is a treasure when it comes to analytics. A shame I don't really have a chance to see him more with MSG.

Ouch for Kakko. Looking like early feb.

Chytil i wonder if he will even come back at all. Scary stuff. Hopefully he does.
I actually think that's a pretty positive sign for Kakko considering how awful that injury looked. Just take the time and come back fully healthy, no reason to rush it as we are chugging along and he's not doing any services to himself by playing at less than 100%.

As for Chytil, that does sound terribly concerning. Nolan Patrick just announced his retirement. Now I'm not sure if his migrane issues were concussion related, but still.

bold: Ekblad and others have returned I believe from [what we think is] worse, but I could be wrong.
Every situation is dif
fact he can fly is a plus
desperate to see Cuy-Chy-KK
but mo important is to give max recovery to these guys

underline: we likely get a late 1st or equiv if we deal him NOW not later
also,
would help if we exploited Oil
more on that later when I have time...
