Almost sounds like they sat him down for behavior reasons & they're trying not to embarrass him.
I really should not speculate but I'm human and I agree with you that it sounds like it was a team decision. Is KAM unhappy about something? This can not be related to the Goodrow accident can it?

Thats my thought too, but at the same time, its something the team is keeping in house.
Sometimes these things are kept in house forever. Sometimes they leak out because there are probably 30 people that know what is going on.

Decades ago a popular player was sent down to the AHL for much of the season. Nobody could understand it at the time. In fact the media reported a bogus reason but a family friend that worked in MSG told my dad why. I have never said who it was or why.

If I'm reading between the lines correctly...

You're saying Redden was schtupping rookie Stepan's Mom?

Am I doing this right?

Feels like Michal Grosek.

Reijo? Give us a timeframe
Not Reijo. Reijo was never sent down was he? Reijo was one of my favorite players.

Going to stop answering questions because its decades ago and I probably should not have brought it up.

Immediately what came to my mind - someone messing with another guy's wife
LOL the situation I mentioned had absolutely nothing to do with another player, player's wife or player's family at all.

Now I regret saying anything. :(

people here say this all the time but Miller would be a perfect partner for Fox. it's not like Miller-Trouba has been any good at all this year so what is there to lose? we have what we need right in front of us but the coach wont do it. three coaches in a row can't tell that Miller-Trouba is bad.
Fox-Miller has been completely dominant every time they’ve been paired together. That’s our Makar-Toews pairing that we refuse to have

He won that Norris partnered with Lindgren. We've all watched the games with Fox partnered with anyone else.
I’ve watched Fox Miller dominate every single time they touch the ice together. They have an absurd 66% xGF with solid offensive generation in 122 minutes TOI since last year.

Those are numbers you simply can’t not explore further. The idea that Ryan Lindgrens dusty ass is the key to Fox is one of the more idiotic narratives that gets parroted constantly by NYR fans

Not just fans, Rongo mgmt is in love with stupid combos in general

122 minutes TOI is less than 1/10th the TOI that the Lindgren/Fox pairing had since last season. It's cute that you think any statistic over that short a period could be reliably extrapolated over two seasons.

But sure, maybe you're right. And the players, coaching staff and all those other fans you referenced just don't get it. That's a special kind of mindset.

First of all 122 minutes isnt really some negligible sample. That’s like 8 games worth of completely tilting the ice to an insane degree. Second, nobody said anything about “reliably extrapolating”. I said that they’ve played very well in that small-ish sample, so they should try it more and see what happens. That’s what you do when you have something really good in a small sample. You try it for a bigger sample. The team will not spontaneously combust if they try Fox-Miller and it doesn’t work

122 minutes since last year, are you kidding me. That's like 1 minute a game. All those minutes are either 4 on 4 or when we are trailing late in games and needing a goal while the other team is just playing defense. Those numbers are useless.
Secondly, I like the fact that with them on different pairs, one of them is on the ice for 45 minutes a game, able to join the rush and create offense. You put them together and say they play 25 minutes a night. In the other 35 minutes, we have some combo of the other 4,5 guys. Not much offense being added in those other minutes. I'm still standing by my thought that putting Fox/Miller together is a waste of Miller's offensive upside.

Fox-Miller was together when the Rangers were behind and pressing. It stands to reason the opponent was turtling a bit, juicing those numbers.
