Yet Jonny Lazarus did play college hockey.
Jonny Lazarus asked the question.
Jonny Lazarus said the next day that he thought his question was silly.
DFO didn’t bring up his question, Jonny Lazarus did.
The point was not about the question our the answer.
The point was do hockey writers and hockey pundits read hfboards.
There seems to be the circumstantial evidences that the answer might point to yes.
I know, I played against Jonny Lazerus...It was a silly question but pretty funny because everyones guilty of it. He probably came out and said it was a silly question because of the backlash. Players, writers, pundits, all read HFboards, I can guarantee you that

My list is a bit more extensive in terms of players I would not move for a rental:

Othmann
Berard
Sykora
Garand
Perrault
Fortescue
Laba
Lamb

That leaves guys like:
Edstrom
Henriksson
Robertson
Scanlin
Korczak
BMB
Ollas

IN all honesty however, at this point, I'd be looking for a physical depth forward and a physical depth d-man and that's about it.

Guys like:

Forwards:
Labanc
Wennberg
Trenin

D-men:
Tanev
Dillon

I also think a pipeline is overrated. Just this past year we had a slew of perfectly servicable bottom six guys go unsigned forever and get minimum contracts. Donato, sprong, comtois, motte, on and on. Filling a roster out with competent forwards is not an issue.

Defense much more so. Much harder.

well you don't know what Schneiders first name is either
well that certainly answers the question. Perhaps you can enlighten if you were serious about your statement about "Jones has been great. if we would've played him instead of Schneider or Mikkola we would've won that playoff series last year in less than 7 games."

or perhaps you dont understand the question....

I’d add bmb to the do not move.

I do not think the team will trade for anyone other than a physical depth D. They don't need it.

I think this will revert back to the norm once the cap goes up. I envision seeing 4th liners in the $1.5-2m range pretty regularly

Lehtinen was a low 50/high40 point winger in the dead puck era. Scoring now is through the roof & Kakko is on pace for a point total in the teens. Lehtinen was supposed to be his floor not his ceiling.
The “scoring through the roof” narrative is way overstated. Lehtinen had his last 50 pt season when average scoring per team was 2.92 gpg. Know what it is NOW? 2.97 gpg. And a good whack of scoring uptick is due to higher PP scoring percentage. In the early 2000s pp % was in the 15 to 18% range, last 5 years it’s been around 20% Or higher. This last year it was 21.31% this year 20.57% so far. So if you aren’t a PP fixture it’s not a huge deal.

Give Lavi credit for massively cutting Goodrow's icetime from last year at 5 on 5. He played 955 minutes at 5 on 5 last year, he's on pace for like 600 minutes this season.

He also chose the corpse of Bonino to fill in for Chytil over Goodrow. Hard to imagine he lasts past this summer if the Rangers need the cap space.

Nylander would be great if we didn’t have these other contracts on the books
Nylander has never been the guy. He’s never even been the 2nd guy.
Like we spent money on Panarin, but he was the guy in cbj.
I also don’t want another 10 million guy until Panarin comes off the books, and I’m hoping we use that money to lock Laf up at this rate.

Goodrow is a significantly better winger than center and Lav has functioning eyes.

I know this is unlikely but we haven't really lost a beat on the top pairing with Gus in. What if we put Fox with Schneider and let him feast on other teams' bottom of the lineup players? Fox is good enough to carry Schneider and Schneider is good enough to play with Fox.

Fox-Miller
Trouba-Jones
Gus-Lindgren
Schneider in the press box

I'd move most of those guys. I'm no kid anymore. I can't wait decades to enjoy another Cup

Depends on Chytil's recovery and potential future injuries. Still think Othmann is ticketed for one of the RW spots at some point.

Has Othmann really shown a lot so far down in Hartford? Its hard to see the Rangers putting him at one of the top RW spots unless he really starts piling up some points in Hartford

I think a lot of those inexpensive but good players were inexpensive due to the flat cap.

From what I’ve read, it’s a case of lots of shots and chances but puck not going in for him. Hoping he can start getting some puck luck soon.
