If they do not respond like competitors then they are not part of the solution anyway.
Oh for sure, but the issue is there's not really you can do about it. We have to make do with them. This isn't European soccer or NBA where you can easily ship out players and find replacements. We lie in the bed we have made.

This is where leadership comes in. Trouba first and foremost as the captain needs to set an example and put vets in their place if there's any complaining about this stuff.

I agree that Trouba is important. So is Kreider. Most competitors would welcome this kind of competition. If they do not it is probably better for the coaches to see it now. I'm not advocating trading the guys you mentioned but 75% of the time I hear guys can not be traded I disagree. I understand the reasoning but most players can be if the desire is strong. I have seen guys with horrible contracts traded. I have seen guys with NTC and NMC traded. Heck in the NBA I have seen guys that have been retired for years traded lol.

Brodz is a guy every team has. I’d be surprised if he’s picked up. Cuylle did what he had to do. Made it impossible to cut.

The guy again that I think better step up is vesey. He’s going to find himself sitting. Pitlick plays a lavy game. Up and down the ice power guy. And Bonino and Goodrow aren’t coming out of the lineup. Vesey is the easy guy to sit in this lineup regardless of how well he played last year. He’s been awful this preseason.
Good problem to have. We have more nhl caliber forwards than spots

Vesey is a solid bottom 6er. I’m confident he will step it up
