Kreider Zibanejad Zucc
Nash Miller Buchnevich
Vesey Hayes Grabner
Gropp Desharnais Fast
Puempel

Could see Nieves make it over Gropp if he's ready

This is pretty good if u ask me

I'm not all that convinced on Nieves just yet.
Hopefully he changes my mind this camp.

matt duchene is what...a 6 mil a year player?

Hayes had 49 pts last year...17/32...in 76 games..he makes what a mil?
Duchene had 41 pts.. 18/23 in 77...he makes what...6.5 mil? something like that?

I'd keep Hayes TBH.

Again, I think Duchene is a heck of a player..but that salary...thats a big bullet to bite.

I like that lineup. I think we'll see plenty of both Gropp and Nieves this season.

literally nobody will agree with me.

but I think JT Miller is a better center than a winger.

I have and continue to agree with this 100 percent. I also think he's better than Kevin Hayes as I've mentioned here. Prob our most creative option at center easily.

Yeah that's a nice chunk of change.
I do think he's much better suited for the NYR system over Hayes though.

Its hard to say for sure because he has played so little center lately. I have said many times that positions are basically out the window once you cross the redline anyway. The center does not stay at center and the wings move around as well once you get passed the redline moving towards the other teams net. The main thing JT has to do is work on his center defensive responsibilities and transitioning the puck from defense to offense.

with our new D and that set up with miller in the middle I like our team a lot.

Hank worries me but I also like what AV said there sounds like no limit on games for hank. If you recall I've been saying I think hank needs to play more than he has last few years. I think he needs games and rhythm to stay sharp. It's harder for older goalie to sit longer between games I truely believe that. I'd play him 65 to 68 games this year if healthy.

It's probably a fine line to walk. Too many games, maybe he burns out, too few games it's hard to get into a rhythm.

I don't think he's played enough last few years and it's hampered him. Every time he started going AV sat him. Think he's the type that needs to play. Brodeur Hasek were the same lot of guys are

I haven't seen Miller play center in so long I don't really know if he's better at it than wing or what. He sometimes goes out and takes faceoffs but then I don't think he plays the position after that.

He seems like he wants to play like a center sometimes, more puck holding than attacking that you'd expect wings to do, but is that a good or bad thing

If they want to play Miller at C then why no wingers on PTOs?

Just do not understand passing on so much free depth. Perhaps some guys just chose to go elsewhere.

Most guys on PTO's at this point aren't so much depth as fringe NHLers

I mean our top 9 is set

We've got Desharnais puempel Fast probably locks

Prob want to take s look at some kids for a final spot why clutter up camp with more bodies. Let's get a look at the guys we like is my guess.

Cause we are an injury away from an AHL player playing every game.

Hopefully he changes my mind this camp.

I've been one of Nieves' most ardent supporters since his sophomore slump season, and even I'll tell you no one should be convinced about him. He was pretty good when healthy last year but couldn't stay healthy (and has recurring issues with that), and honestly was better on the wing in college. I like his chances of having an NHL career but it's hardly a given.

Why would DeAngelo start in Hartford? Kid proved he should be in the NHL last year. He's way ahead of these other kids in that sense.

Bereglazov is not some hot shot prospect ala buchnevich. This is a 23 year old undrafted stay at home dmen who handles the puck like Marc Staal. If he goes back he goes back I doubt we'd care all that much. He's not going to stay here if better players are available. They aren't going to put DeAngelo in Hartford if he plays the way he should no doubt play just to keep this guy around.

1. DeAngelo is waiver exempt
2. He is not significantly better than Bereglazov. Just flashier
3. Bereglazov was an integral part of a team that went to back-to-back finals in the 2nd best league in the world, winning 1 cup.

need to give the kids a chance, ef the reasonable growing pains
nothing vs him, Holden is taking up a slot.
move on

You need more than just kids. This isn't World Juniors.

I like Desharnais too, always been a fan but that might be cause I loved the way the MTL PA guy said his name.

Maybe

But I'm also a fan of his game.

Desharnais in the top 6? No thanks.

Desharnais on the 4th line provided the coaching staff stays disciplined about his role? Yes please.

He's a better hockey player than 90% of the trash populating NHL 4th lines.
