If we roll with those guys I would change your top 3 lines a tiny bit.
Kreider-Zib-Zuccarello
Nash-JT Miller-Buch
Vesey-Hayes-Grabner

I feel good w that top 9 but a little worried if they rely on Andersson since he's so young

Desjardin, Desharnais , Puempel really the 4th line till Fast is healthy ?

At this point this is a disaster imo.

What would you guys be willing to offer? Do you think we can sneak in here with a deal that we like being an Eastern Conference team?

If he hasn't been dealt yet, no one is going to swoop in and make a deal. Just my opinion

I have a hard time finding an offer to put together for him. I'd love to have him just don't see the pieces

mix of salary and production just doesnt seem to match up for me.

i woulda done Stepan for him, but now its too late.

Staal would have to go back the other way, and Colorado would be dumb as hell to do that.

JT meaning Miller, who was proposed to trade for Duchene. Miller is 2 years younger, will cost less, and will produce very close to as much if not more imo.

Tavares is definitely going to cost more than Duchene and is a superior player to anyone we're discussing, but the question here was moving JT Miller for Duchene.

Oh. ****. Went straight over my head.

Yep. Re-reading it now, definitely Miller. Sorry folks, really long day for me.

I`m not sure why Avalanche would move Matt Duchene, and Miller won`t be enough - they will probably ask for Skjei too, but we are not interested in that.

Since they're going for a full omni-rebuild they must have a handful of cornerstone young players in the league they're looking for, and if those teams don't want Duchene or they don't want to give up those players, the Avs aren't going to push him out for second round pick + Ryan Graves-type prospect + journeyman hockey trade soup*

*I am assuming the Avs make sense

Anyone other than the two first rounders and Shestyorkin. We don't have the prospects to get Duchene though, unless we offer up all three of those players.

I think Desharnais is the veteran 4C.

I think the 3C will either be Andersson or Miller pushed to center with Grabner being in the top 9.

I like DD, but he's not a 4th line type of player... depth wise on skill... sure... but in terms of what a 4th line grinder needs to do...

That's not the game DD plays.

As a spot duty 32-45 game player, I think DD will thrive, but as an everyday 82 game player with a lot of hard miles on an unathletic body... that's a losing cause.

Rangers can't come close to what CLB or NSH can pay for Duchene.

This is what happens when you hit on your picks. Absolutely loaded farm systems.

Board, brace yourself: Ryan Malone attempting comeback. I'm going voice an unpopular opinion and say we still don't need him.

Gropp have a shot at making the team at some point this year? Seems like he did well last season

Atleast they have a few kids to watch this season

At this point this is a disaster imo.

What would you guys be willing to offer? Do you think we can sneak in here with a deal that we like being an Eastern Conference team?

Colorado would likely ask for Skjei in return. I don't think I would be willing to part with him at this stage of the game.

Totally agree. It's this year's Lapierre.

Maybe. Lapierre would have been kind of an extraneous part though who would have filled the "toughness role" and not a lot else. Desjardins, if he looked decent, would actually fill a potential role as a C/W on that fourth line and can also PK a bit. I think the potential is greater with Desjardins, though yeah, he may be done. We'll see.
