This will be the best blue line we've run out there in a while. I think this group pushes the puck and we end up defending less.

I'm excited about it. Hank needs to make some saves though no question. Outside of the Montreal series he didn't do his job at all. One of the worst starting goalies in the league last year.

I just don't see Andersson as an nhler yet. He's 18 I want him playing a ton scoring and making plays in Europe. At best right now I think he's oscar Lindberg. I don't see the reason in rushing him. He's gonna be in and out of the lineup stapled to the next half the time under AV.

Kreider Zibanejad Buchnevich
Nash Miller Zucc
Vesey Hayes Grabner
Puempel Desharnais ??? (Fast when healthy)
Nieves? Not sold on him

I think we're short. Don't like the depth at all

I'm more upset about having Nik Jensen go to the KHL than losing Glass. Glass isn't good.

Franson, John Mitchell, Mark Stuart, and Drew Miller all to Chicago on PTOs.

Mitchell wouldn't have been a bad 4C/13th forward option. It would've made the wings look better, in my opinion, and it would've kept DD out of a 4C position, where I think he has no place. The c depth still wouldn't have been good, but it would leave the option for Miller/Nieves/whoever to fill in at C if an injury were to occur.

eg:

Kreider - Zibanejad - Buchnevich
Vesey - Hayes - Zuccarello
Nash - Deshnarnais - Miller
Grabner - Mitchell - Fast/Puempel

Or qualify Pirri

Pirri was advertised by some people here as having one of the best shots in the league. Then he hit the net a couple times and was hailed as hockey jesus. Then he stopped hitting the net, and after a while shooting the puck. And thus disappeared his only reason to remain on the team.

Pirri brings nothing to this team.

Was hoping the Rangers would bring Johnny Malkin in on a PTO.

Gorton is probably going to be active on the waiver wire in the coming days.

There is no way you can say the Rangers are definitely a playoff team, unless you are overrating the team. There is nothing you can bank on with this team being around top of the league. For years you could say that the goalie and the defense were top of the league, then it was that the offense had as much depth as any team in the league.

Where are we now? What part of the team is definitely top 5 in the NHL?

And Jensen is? They both suck.

Uh, relative to Glass? Yeah. But I guess Jensen being Hartford's best forward by a mile and having a much better stint than Glass at the NHL level means nothing. There's no reason Jensen couldn't be a contributing 4th liner on the Rangers this season.

The defense is on paper. We'll see how it shakes out at camp

Count me in as someone who is very concerned with our center depth. We have been very spoiled with having Brassard and Hayes as our 3rd line centers for the past 4 years, now we are going with Desharnais or Andersson, who might not be ready? Not to mention Hayes isn't exactly inspiring confidence after his 16-17 performance. I like our defense alot but I can absolutely see Dom's prediction being the outcome.

In Gorton we trust. He rebuilt the blueline in a summer. It looks better than it did at this time last year, to be sure.

Let's see if anyone interesting ends up on waivers.

DD on the 4th line doesn't inspire a lot of defensive confidence in me, nor does Pavelec as our backup, but I imagine Allaire sees things he can fix.
