Sorry this is OT for this thread but it is WILD that Jarmo continues to be employed
No team is going to make a decision like that right before camp. I don't think he or Davidson have jobs by the trade deadline, but now is the worst time to make wholesale changes.

We already reduced Kreider's even strength ice time last year because the Rangers hate scoring and winning.
I'm fine with him in the matchup line role. He's one of the few good 5 v 5 play drivers on this team. The more time spent in the other team's end while the other team's best players are on the ice, the more hockey games you'll win.

I'm here for a Kreider-Trochek- Kakko line. Play that as your "1st line" 5 v 5. The other team will never have the puck.

THIS is the way

Hello rangers fan, just wondering if there’s any indication or foresight if Blake Wheeler will be playing in the top 6 this year? Sadly picking my fantasy team before any pre season games so it’s a tough call.

50/50 shot. We aren't sure if he will play 2nd or 3rd line. Most are thinking 3rd line but who knows.

If I had to bet I would say he is in the top 2 lines. Anyone saying 3rd line is betting Laf will play RW and Kakko will be the other RW. Best odds say top 2 lines.

Lol wow Columbus management pretty much word for word echoed what you said. It reads pretty grim for Jarmo and davidson long term, I have to say.

Most teams announce training camp roster, Rangers have not. Especially if it starts on Wednesday. Their social media is the worst in the league

Been a long summer but the boy is back. Just in time to gloat about two of my major stances I've had. Firstly, that getting rid of the caricature was the best thing Dolan's ever done. And second, that Garand is HIM and was far and away our best prospect pre-draft.

Bit season is winding down folks. Get in those last minute bits before we start playing for keeps.

Both MSG and the Rangers management under Gorts seemed so much more willing to provide camp access and interviews.

Its a shame with all of the available ways to consume content these days... you would think it would help grow the fanbase.

Just pick any league out of a hat and google the team name and training camp and you can find all sorts of information, media & articles

Not sure why anyone is surprised by the lack of information

This is Dolan owned teams new MO

Leon Rose and Chris Drury come out of the shadows once every 18 months to talk publicly. And the teams send out limited info on their own channels and limit who gets access to what

Leon doesn't even meet with the media, at least Drury will face them a couple times a year.

Drury is/was actively being mentored by Glen Sather. We saw the groundhog see their shadow as much as we saw Glen Sather face the press. Color me not surprised.

You guys are arguing that if you create supply, demand will follow, but that's an assumption.

I'm pretty sure if a billionaire thought there was money to be made in all this, you'd be seeing more of it.

Unless the argument is opulence manufactures apathy regarding the specific comings and going's of one's ownership portfolio.

They didn’t reduce his power play time and he went from 26 goals to 8 there… his even strength goal scoring went up by a goal. The problem wasn’t reduced TOI, it was lack of pp puck luck.
Kreider is 32, not too old and in terrific condition. Still, if we can cut back his time (esp EV) in the regular season and the kids continue to develop, and can match or better his EV totals (and 20 year old Laf by himself was right there last season 35 EV points each) that would be the ideal. Kreider would be more rested for the post season, and suffering less wear and tear would bode well for his longevity. PLUS we’d be investing in development which is helpful short AND long term.
I absolutely think reallocating time and responsibility is a must if we want a team that can compete in the post season. I don’t care if costs us a little in the short term, and it may not. But if we just do the same thing as last year we stand a great chance of being out before the third round. I’d rather have a few less regular season wins.

With all this Laf to the right talk, I'm thinking they want to give Laf the keys to Mika's right and see what he can do.

Thats all fine and good for his development, but if you ask me Kakko has earned that spot more than him, or Wheeler.

Balance and combinations will also be stronger, imo.

Panarin Mika Kakko
Kreider Chytil Lafreniere
Vesey Trocheck Wheeler
Cuylle Bonino Goodrow

But do you really have to force him to the right side? Just drop Kreider to the 3rd line with Trocheck which is a good fit, as discussed. Vesey can play either side.
