Roster Building Thread: Part VII (2023-24)

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The Kids dont want long term deals with the cap going up. Betting on themselves. I still like the Chytil contract a lot though.

I am seeing more and more teams getting some players together early for informal skates. Would be cool to see some of that from our guys, though it could just be a lack of NYR media presence which is also par for the course.

You know the other player has to agree to the contract, right? Miller just signed 2 years shy of 4 million, but somehow you think he would have taken 8 years right now at 6.2-6.5/8 when the cap is going to sky rocket and every donkey is getting paid.

Yeah its a total obsession to look at guys like Pitlick abs Belzille and think yeah Motte is better than those guys…

Yes we are forgetting how much you hate Kane and are dismissive of a HOF bound player who literally had 92 points just 2 seasons ago.

They will. There are always players who show up early.

It could just be that it happens and our players don’t feel the need to publicize it.

Players have been at the training facility skating around, like Sykora, I assume others are as well but yea...lack of NYR media presence so we don't know.

A bunch of younger players have already been skating in Tarrytown over the last few weeks.

Cuylle and Othmann have been in DC for the NHLPA rookie event together with Robertson and Scanlin, and have had some on-ice practice there. Othmann of course spent time on the Petes ice during their training camp.

Sýkora and Edström have been assigned to their billet families and I know one family that has a rink in their backyard so they can skate and get their reps in without any cameras around.

I guess we already have guys together skating. Why are no reporters on this? I've seen plenty of videos and photos from other teams "captain's skates" or whatever you want to call 'em.

Would be at least nice to know who's in town.

If anyone wants to make a thread for the rookie series and training camp have at it. We are getting close to the wire, and like everyone to see the dates in a fresh thread , rather than trying to read through the roster builder. Thanks!
