Just have to hope that this kid takes this as a wake up call and not as confirmation that he is part of a persecuted class. This is likely a defining moment in this young man’s life and I hope he lands on his feet.

Doubtful.

Weeks from now when hes sitting at home on his Parler account watching games on TV and not on the Taxi squad or even being allowed near the Hatford roster maybe hell realized he f***ed up. Maybe

Crazy take that a player in their prime is better than someone with *checks notes* 70 NHL games under his belt.

I was reminding him that Ryan McDonagh was on this team and was a really good player. I was saying wait remember him before saying Fox is the best since Leetch. I'm not knocking Fox at all.

Put him in tonight, Quinn, you coward

While we could retain and likely be able to move him, I see no point in doing so when the buyout is so cheap. This kid is going to sit at home not playing for a year. Will we loan him to a team in Europe? Worse for him if he doesn’t play all year and then is bought out and tries to get a new gig after another 10 month layoff. Oh well.

Agreed, not worth eating 50% next year to get like a 6th round draft pick when the buyout is so cheap.

I am a right leaning libertarian, and although I have nothing really in common with Tony’s beliefs, I know plenty of young men who are pretty close, particularly some of the younger guys I led in the military, who are really into the online theories and MAGA hype. As much as I would like to think Tony can grow from this, I actually do believe it will galvanize him as believing that anyone with a right leaning perspective is a victim and that they’re being cancelled and silenced. Unfortunate. I manage to get along in every single environment without my political leanings or musings ever having an impact; in fact I’d wager 80% of people who know me would say “I don’t know what his political views are”. DeAngelo is a world class skill who will allow his young, misguided understanding of socio-political interaction to ruin his career.

I can't see the team eating money just to get rid of him. If they do, I think it'll be because they're getting a player or pieces they see value in. If that market doesn't exist then Tony is likely podcasting from his living room until the first buyout window.

exactly the basis for that belief system is to feel aggrieved. If anything he just got his wings

When DeAngelo was scratched I said that some things are more important than hockey. That his attitude towards race, politics, and his behavior in the locker room were more important than his ability to contribute on the ice. The responses here were not kind, to say the least. It sure seems like all 31 GMs would agree with me, though.

Where do I sign up to volunteer for the Tony DeAngelo for 2021 Seattle Expansion Draft Defenseman Campaign?

Woohoo! 31 GMs agree with you! They don't by the way. Once this cools off and he's available as a cheap free agent, GMs will call him for his services regardless of his politics.
