It's fine for what it is:
One of the most actively curated NYR fan, news,I will also say you have had some impressive moments.
You cited an insider lead that Crawley would be on the summer roster, when no one else predicted it, and it happened.
Crawley was, what, their 9th defenseman? He was a necessity for the summer roster.

The NBA is talking a December start and playing 72 games.

Come on NHL, let’s get it done.
The NBA doesn't need much of a training camp or preseason. Hockey is definitely going to need some kind of camp and preseason so they need to get moving or at least let teams meet soon.

Should in fairness point out that @Amazing Kreiderman does post his prospect interviews there. They are excellent. Beyond that....pfffft

I believe Amazing Kreiderman does articles here and there for them, which are the interviews he conducts with the prospects. That material is interesting. But that is also because AK has a passion for traveling and following all the European and Russian prospects that are kids and would otherwise get minimal attention so they give AK the time of day. I mean its great work he does, but the rest of FB is really nothing to write home about. A lot of the trade ideas put together are not well thought out.

I get my Kreiderman news at the source!

Yes, I post my prospect interviews there. They approached me last year and gave me a platform to share my experiences. I know there's a lot of criticism towards the site, but for me it's just a platform I was allowed to use.

I really don't have the time to create a website, generate traction and then post, so it works for me. I don't really want to get sucked into a debate on what the site is or isn't but appreciate people reading the prospect coverage and interviews.

You done good Steven, you done good!

Personally I cannot give their opinion credibility when they let their (highly liberal) political views influence their hockey assessments or worse very transparently build a link from political views to character judgement to hockey assessment.

no offense but I don't really care about your political views, their political views or your views on their political views lol. don't read them if you don't want, you likely aren't missing much but that has little to do with the credibility or lack of as a source of rangers news

so the NHL's 'vision' is that they have no clue what they are going to do and are just gonna hope and pray that they can have games? at this point any discussion that starts with wanting to play 82 games and full arenas means that they have zero grasp of reality and the world we live in. the perfect solution doesn't exist for this season. they need to figure out how to make the best of the situation, not just hope it will get better. that plan didn't work for the country and it won't work for the NHL

I mean, the article linked there literally says they know that the full season isn’t realistic.

Just remember that the last time people (not saying you) were claiming the NHL didn’t have a good handle on reality, they pulled off a perfect playoff structure under the circumstances. I think they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt for us to wait and see where they land.

i should have been more clear...that article is a fluff piece that tells us nothing about the nhl's plan.

Well, they don’t have a plan yet. It’s like when that “breaking news” came out the other day about the NBA’s season. They don’t have a plan either at this point, but it was portrayed as a big deal.

It’s just us finding out some of what they’re considering... nothing more. Is that fluff? I guess sort of.

The worst thing there is that the headline bears no relationship to the content of the piece. But it’s the NY Post, so no surprise there.

The seasons to be or not to be is all about being able to generate sufficient money for owners and players alike. If restrictions make the predicted result too lean, there will be no 20-21 season. “No gate revenue = no season” is what I heard. So the outlook is really bleak...

I dont think the NHL will resume until next fall.

Disagree... may be delayed and may be a shortened or alternate schedule, but I’d be shocked if there was no season. Baseball, Football, Basketball, and even hockey have all played with some issues but nothing insurmountable. The players have relatively short careers so I think they’ll be raring to go to play and get paid.

I think that’s pretty much all they can do. I’m sure they have a few ideas in mind, but it’s really going to come down to what’s going on in the world. Does the disease become less severe? Is there another spike and if so, how big is it? Is it a couple hotspots or nationwide? They could announce camps open Nov 15 which then become January 1st, then Feb 15th, and then they give the impression that they have zero clue. There probably better off hedging their bets and waiting it out until they can have a pretty solid plan.

I made this prediction as soon as the Rangers won the draft lottery. Did you guys really think the hockey gods would allow the Rangers to have a #1OA draft pick?

And I absolutely don’t give a damn about your political views either and happy not to see them when I’m looking for New York Rangers news. You could be ultra left or right or moderate but keep it to yourself if you want Rangers fans to come to you for hockey news, objective analysis and editorials.

In the US, the "shutdowns" that we've seen since the pandemic began have become quite scaled back in most places. They've had 30,000 people at a NASCAR event and have anywhere between 0 and 15,000 fans in the stands at NFL games. Same for college football. Of course, those are all outdoor sports, and I don't know how they'll deal with inside venues. I have however learned never to underestimate US politicians' willingness to absolutely ass-f*** their constituents in the name of scoring points by helping the local sports teams. The more "blue" places, like NY, the NE region, CA, etc., you probably won't see much if anything allowed indoors (barring significant change) but I do think you could see many NHL cities that allow limited crowds into arenas.

I expect and 50-60 game NHL season and something similar in the AHL. Maybe in the AHL, not all teams participate and they come up with something else, but I do expect something.
