Damn I like Krug but he's not worth 7-7.5 with that kind of term. I mean i'm suspecting that is what he will want if he turned down that offer from Boston. My cap for Dillon would be 4 years and $4-$4.5 AAV. Now of course you can have a team come in and overpay for him. And at that point we need to move on. But I am heavy on the Dillon train. Really want him and his makeup as part of this team moving forward.
Also side note, Frank Seravelli is saying Krug has turned down Boston’s latest offer of 6 years @ $6.5 AAV. Didnt want this guy before that and definitely dont want him beyond that. Just no.
Cue a boatload of nonsense about Eichel being a bad skater (he's not) and how he's actually the problem in Buffalo (lolworthy when you look at that roster and (franchise in general)).Bob McKenzie saying that Eichel may have requested a trade. Also says NYR have inquired.
On to non car related issues. I think we will get some news on Hank this week - likely after the "SC tournament thing" is over. I have heard - quite a while ago - that this issue has been settled between the parties.
But I was told the Rangers would never trade for Eichel, that it shouldnt even be brought up in the Roster Building thread just 2-3 weeks ago...
And I am not certain how “for” or “against it” I am to be honest because of the surrounding factors. Acquisition cost + Cap navigation now and in the future. It would likely mean the end of Zibanejad in 2 years when he needs a new contract. That honestly scares the hell out of me. I love Eichel but cringe at the acquisition cost.
What are we thinking? Trade or retirement?
Kreider, Zibanajad, Panarin and Trouba got them because they are established cornerstone players. Smith has a modified no-trade clause, not a NMC. Much different. DeAngelo can't get any type of protection for at least another three years.Kreider, Zib, Trouba and Panarin got them.
…heck, Smith too.
ADA will too, likely.
Oh my my my

What don’t they say? It literally says the NYR were one of the teams that called regarding availability...they shouldn’t. Giving up a huge amount of assets for a 10m contract is stupid at this stage.
also the tweets don’t say what you’re insinuating they say.
