I don't think anyone is expecting him to be the "centerpiece".

He also put up those numbers in his first season while averaging just over 13 minutes of ice time. He certainly can be a piece on a successful team. And despite him being 24, his age isn't really that relevant. He's not 24 with 6 years of NHL experience. He's played 1 season. Some level of improvement can be expected.

In the last couple pages I've seen a few references to him being miscast in the lineup and plenty have suggested we can trade Nash or Zucc b/c Vesey can then step in. (If we're at the deadline and not competing - that's a whole nother story. Trade whoever)

Because he was highly touted and signing him was considered a coup, I feel like he's being vastly overrated. If another team is high on him and we can get something good for him I don't think twice.

As for Ship, rangers should absolutely be in on it. McPhee could retain 30-50%, and receive a middling prospect + a mid to high round pick (2nd/3rd rounder).

He's not really in a position to ask for much more. Ship helps a ton with the center issues we are having especially since Zib is playing insanely well and Hayes is looking slightly better than last season.

Going from Step-Zib-Hayes to Zib-Hayes-Miller was a pretty tough hit. Replacing Miller with Ship mitigates most of that hit we took from trading step.

[MOD] AV used Ryan Mc. - M. Staal last game and Brooksi is accurate with his journalism, jesus christ.
And Shattenkirk struggle at times with defensive tasks.. And may he produce for us on PP, and with good outlet passes, but defense and shutdown role I will take Skjei any day of the week.

And personally, I would go for Ryan Mc. - Skjei good shutdown defense who can skate, and my only reason for that is that M. Staal struggle with his overall speed and should be limited his TOI based on that on our 2 nd or 3 rd. line, but when Marc Staal got 2 pts. AV used him on the first pairing - back to TOI arguement with AV who produce.. :)

Credit where credits due. Brooksie knows how to engage his audience.

Glad to hear Staal was pissed. A little fire in the belly is a good thing.

NYR needs to be in on this, would need to be a bit creative to make the money work but i'm sure Vegas could retain if needed...
Hard to gauge what the cost would be though given the circumstances. He would be amazing with Nash though imo.

Wait a sec. I've been slacking! McPhee sent him to the minors?!

You debate like a college student @RGY . Personally I don`t debate to win arguments here, but some of us enjoy discussing what is going on in AV land. And how is our 4th line dominating the NHL 2017-18 season so far - if someone said it like that it would be completely wrong. The truth is our 4th line is struggling, and Jeff Gorton doing some changes in attempt to get someone going on that 4th line with that waiver move earlier this evening.

Why I mention TOI argument is that AV believe to give players who produce more ice time - `if you want more ice time, fine show it to me`, quote, AV.
But it affect the whole line up and it will cause changes too often - also on our defensive pair decisions which end up with some rotations like last night, and it will hurt our consistency for sure on some of our players.
Zucc cold again after 4 points in Leaf on the same line with Hayes & Vesey last game. It`s just one example, and Nash is stone cold based on poor pre season planing, and some mention it earlier here: It feels like pre season is extended some weeks - while AV trying to figure out how to find chemistry.

Shoukd be all over Ship in Vegas if he wants out. Take a spare part Dman off their hands if that helps

Crazy thought.

Vesey for Ship

Youngster for youngster.

Ship helps our center postion.

Vesey can grow with Vegas. Only issue the salary cap.

Vesey is entitled to more time.
Unless they screw him up he'll be fine.
Maybe not all that AND a bag of chips, but ok.
Do not move, not yet.
Also, while neither he nor Miller are guaranteed lifetime w/Rangers, we can't beg college FAs to come here, and be too quick to move. Not good for the next ones.
Yes, I would move some guys we extended without thinking twice. But those are regular FAs. Movement comes with the territory, and a minimum of concession. College guys get kid gloves --- for a bit.

Yeah, and I kind of agree with Ori. AV played Staal-McD as his shutdown pair, I think sometimes with these terms we assign them different meaning and what not, but to me the pair AV gives the toughest minutes can definitely be described as a shut down pairing. JMHO.

Vegas has received an exception to send down 3 players without going through waivers because of the way the expansion draft was set up. Shipachyov is one of the players who had that exempt status.

Nash has been playing well, what are some of you on about
Nah, it's just offda as usual calling Nash invisible while ignoring reality. For someone who's been completely invisible, it's weird how he leads our team in ixGF, scoring chances for, and high-danger corsi for. Invisible, things and stuff, muffins, etc.

Nash has been good but his shot really is softer than baby shit.
